My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Villa Krupp at the beginning of October, after reading Fodor’s user reviews. The place was acceptable , however you cannot consider it an hotel, but more likely a stylish Italian Pension. The location was central but very uncomfortable because it’s just above a small park called Augustus’s Gardens where every night, going back from dinner, we used to found many young people coming and going. One night one of them had also the gut to ask us if we were looking for “something” . That was a very funny atmosphere.
It is better if you stay away and climb fast the 150 steps to the hotel, a very hard thing to do if you have problems with a knee like me.
The hotel’s view is nice and the room clean enough but there is no air conditioning, not that we needed it a lot during our stay, but in the summer it must have been terribly hot.
Altogether the Villa Krupp was not too bad, but is more suitable for young people with low budget, not for regular people like Rachel and me.
