We have stayed at this hotel many times and we return every year. The view is absolutely breathtaking. I wouldn't even consider another hotel on the island. The second you step out onto your balcony all the money you've spent is justly spent. Indescribable, the view and location is simply one to experience.

Room Tip: Room with a view is the only way to go.

This hotel is located in an amazing spot, right above the 'beach' Marina Piccolo - the view is breath taking and surrounds one of the most beautiful spots in Capri. Most other hotels are located in the centre or further up the cliffs so if you are after quick easy access to the beach this hotel is perfect.

We arranged a hotel pickup from the Marina (we found out later this was 10euro, but that is cheap regardless) the staff were very friendly upon arrival, offered us a welcome drink and took care of our bags.

Yes the room was a little dated, some peeling paint here and there - but generally clean and comfortable and to be honest in summer in such a stunning location if you're spending a lot of time in your hotel room you should probably be somewhere else. You get what you pay for - and for Capri this hotel is very well priced.

The beach downstairs is very small/rocks - however there are a number of good beach clubs there (expect to pay between 18 - 30 euro per sunbed + 6 euro for an umbrella) and the beach club staff were actually really rude...but that's not the hotels fault...the water is divine, clear and deep!

There is a free shuttle bus to Capri town every 5 - 10mins from 0800 - 0200 which is amazing as you can enjoy lunch/dinner/drinks in town and get back to the hotel easily (5minute trip to town) or you can walk back to the hotel via the lovely Via Krupp. The conceirge also organised a private boat trip for us which was amazing, swimming in the green grotto etc. The restaurant was decent food, nothing amazing - but good value for the area and the drinks much cheaper than elsewhere at the bar. The pool is nice, the pool guy is a bit over the top about kids/not tying long hair back into a ponytail whilst swimming? (really?) but otherwise a very pleasant stay in a beautiful location.

Recommended!

Room Tip: Book a seaview room - it is CERTAINLY worth the money. The non seaview rooms seem to look straight at a cliff wall as far as I could tell.

Our room overlooked the beautiful Capri coast but our room had peeling paint, a bathroom door that wouldn't lock, a TV from the 1990's, holes in the towel, a crack in the celling.... We were expecting more for the money and the number of stars.

Best thing about this hotel was the location - so close to the beach, beautiful views from our room and the bar and dining room, and only a few minutes from the centre on the great little shuttle service! We walked back from the centre to the hotel on two beautiful moonlit nights via Via Krupp - fabulous! The staff were lovely and breakfast was good!

We're told this is the oldest hotel on the isle of Capri. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Amazing location, with the best views I've ever seen. Worth every penny. Really nice pool and jacuzzi, 2-minute walk down to the ocean. Ate dinner almost every night at the hotel because of the view - most beautiful views in the world. Staff was really friendly and helpful, and we met a lot of other nice families and couples during our stay. Cute little cats that walk around. I would suggest spending a little more to get a room that looks out onto the water. Still can't believe how nice our view was from our room. Even though this hotel isn't the most expensive hotel on the island, I would say that it is the best located hotel. It's also really nice because the hotel has a shuttle service that takes you back over to Marina Grande, to the main part of town, etc, so you save a ton of money on taxis, and you don't have to take the bus. This was a good convenience and a really big perk of the hotel.
