I stayed at the Hotel La Residenza this past April. The location was excellent right near the center of town. The staff and owner were very friendly and the pool, lobby and sun deck were very nice. The key to this hotel is to get a room with a balcony view of the sea, it makes all the difference as the view is fantastic!

While I agree with some of the other reviewers about the dated nature of the rooms, this was not a huge detractor for us. We were lucky to have a small balcony with a decent view (which seems like it made a big difference) and found the pool to be a wonderful place to spend our time. Also agree with the breakfast results, but was happy to have some cereal or a small pastry (and save room for all the local goodies). In terms of value, compared to other Capri options this was great, and overall was a good stay. The staff were really helpful, especially the bar staff and very nice (the waiters at breakfast were always singing and smiling). The location was very convenient as well.

We were shown to room 105 on the second floor.
It had a small double bed, a three door wardrobe and a two door dresser one with a fridge in and the other with two shelves.
We asked to be moved or upgraded but no rooms were available.
There was no safe in the room, after many complaints a safe was found and a member of staff put it into one of the cupboards. when I asked for it to be fixed in place it was as though I was mad, eventually the problem was solved.
THE BATHROOM:
DISGUSTING, old dated and dirty, the tiles were cracked, there was rust and peeling paint everywhere.
We spent as little time as possible in this excuse of a 4 star hotel room.
The breakfast was as good as the room!
The staff couldn't care less, they would keep you waiting for a table, and never looked at the buffet table to replenish any food.
The coffee was terrible. Three hot choices of fatty bacon, solid scrambled eggs and sausages.
There was no toaster which I think is a must in any breakfast room.
The pool area was good and so was the sun terrace. There were a dozen cheap sun loungers, with only half of them having mattresses. You had to go to the bar to obtain your towels.
This hotel could be really good, but was let down by a few cost cutting exercise by the management. This is certainly not a four star hotel.
As it is I will not return.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms are very dated and small. We had no view other than a hedge. The location is good and close access to Capri Town. The pool and lounge area was very nice. Breakfast is typically Italian, so most Australians and Americans won't be raving about it. Free Wifi in the rooms was a bonus. If I was to return to Capri, I would not stay here. It is similar to a 3 star hotel in Australia.

My husband and i stayed her for 2 nights on a tour. The lobby and pool area are lovely, but the rooms were very dated and in need if renovating. Our "view" was directly into the toilets of the hotel pool next door. The globe was missing in the light of the bathroom mirror, and the shower was so small it was almost unusable. It was clean, but not up o the standard of what they claim to be a 4 star hotel. Location however was great. Breakfast on the first morning was good, but on the second morning there was no eggs, no bacon, no ham, no croissants or bread, no yoghurt etc. we had to keep asking for them to restock the buffet so that we could eat! Overall, disappointed.
