Capri town is the bustling metropolis of the Isle of Capri and here is where all the smart shops are plus lots of big hotels and leafy gardens. If you drop down from piazza Umberto where the affordable cafes and bars are, you reach the huge frontage of the Hotel Quisisana that was established in 1812 and still looks like somewhere you should only venture inside its swish café if you have loads of euros to spend before your flight home from Naples the next day. However you should not miss a walk along the Via Camerelle. Turn left at the Quisisana and you pass the front of every posh shop you have ever heard of. It is a pretty street and in fact there is one shop you could afford to enter. It is a second hand clothes shop with an amazing array of lacy clothes with prices starting at 3 euros and few reaching the amazingly low price of 14 euros. Pick up a Gucci plastic bag over the road and buy your loved one a bargain she'll love you for for ever.... or until she spots the receipt you forgot to take out of the bottom of the bag.
