“Romantic, spacious room and great views!”
Reviewed 14 November 2011

A sister hotel of the Quisisana which is THE hotel in Capri-just down the street. Hotel Flora is located in a small street and is away from the hustle and bustle of Capri(which can get to you after a couple of days) yet it was only a 5 minute walk to the Furniculare. This quaint and romantic hotel has amazing views and quite friendly staff. There is an amazing lemonade stall just down the street and a lovely ice-cream parlour right in front of the hotel. Need I say more? :)

As the hotel's pool was closed for maintenance, we could use the sister hotel's pool and facilities which was very much appreciated indeed!

Only downside was the breakfast service which was a bit slow. Other than that, I would definitely recommend Hotel Flora to everyone :)

We have been traveling to Italy for the past 6 years and always felt sad to leave. For the last 3 years we have stayed in Capri our entire 10 days. This was the first time at the Hotel Flora and will definetly go back next September. The price was very fair and the room was large and airy. Our breakfast was included but not your typical buffett. It was made to order . From our wonderful experience a thank you to a great hotel and the kindness of Ramona, Antonio and the entire staff

USA.

Room Tip: A room away from the walkway is more quiet.

We ordered a room with sea view in March 2011 through Booking.com. for a stay for 6 nights in August 2011. No deposit was required according to Booking.com. 14 days before arrival the hotel told us to pay 660.00 EURO as a deposit otherwise our room would be cancelled. At arrival we were taken to a room in the basement with no balcony or view. The only rooms available were Junior suites and at an extra cost of 60.00 EURO per night he would "help" us out so our 40 years anniversary and the deposit would not go down the drain. Off cours we took the room which was nothing but a standard room with a view but much more expensive than expected. I cannot recommend the Hotel unless you are realted to the owner or his receptionist.

My husband surprised me with a trip to the Amalfi Coast - first Positano, then Capri. In Capri, he selected the Hotel Flora because it was owned by the Quisisana owners, but was more moderately priced. As it turns out, I would stay at the Flora over the Quisisana any time! It was a beautiful boutique hotel, with outstanding service. Our room could not have been more comfortable, with a magical view that has become one of my favorites of all time. It is also ideally situated - about 200 meters down a small walkway from the center of town. The Flora made our experience perfect - Ramona at the desk arranged everything we needed, and we could even use the spa and restaurants at the Quisisana by signing to our room. Don't miss this lovely hotel - Meals are limited menu, but there is enough food in Capri to handle it!

We stayed in July, the check in was a breeze, the room was nice and clean but really small (as with all of capri). however the worst part was that my feet hung over the edge of the bed.
The bed was the usual 2 single beds put together, but i am not even that tall (6'1) and the bed went up to my ankles.

Other than that the rooms were nice, A/C wa amazing, showers were nice and there was internet in the public areas.

In regards to location, it was about a 5 minute walk to the centre, not what you would expect from the description.

Overall good service, and the breakfast was sufficient.

On February 21, 2011, we booked a double room in this hotel for a special birthday celebration on the weekend June 2-6, 2011. We asked for, and were assured, in writing, of a double room, deluxe, with a balcony / terrace and sea view ("Camera Deluxe matrimoniale con balcone/terrazzo e vista mare"), "Don't worry (stia tranquilla)" wrote Ramona [--], on behalf of the hotel, "as I promised you on the telephone, I have reserved for you a beautiful room with a beautiful view (Come le ho promesso telefonicamente, Le assegneremo una bella camera con una bella vista)".

That's why we had booked so far in advance. To obtain that incomparable view of the Faraglioni.

On arriving at the hotel, we were shown to a lower ground floor room, with windows looking onto a patio, and obviously no sea view whatsoever!

When we complained, and showed our exchange of emails to the receptionists, they simply shrugged their shoulders and said: "We're sorry".

Our advice: If you want to spend a special week-end in Capri, choose a different hotel. Hotel Flora can not be trusted to honour its reservations.

My wife and I - and 4 other couples - spent a week at Hotel Flora in Capri (not to be confused with the Grand Hotel Flora in Sorrentor) celebrating many 60th birthdays. Hotel Flora is a very special place with spacious rooms that are extremely quiet, open and well appointed. The air conditioning system would keep penguins comfortable. The hotel staff was fantastic, well informed, helpful and attentive. The hotel pool is small but a good place to cool off with lots of comfortable seating (no charges). Breakfast is good, served on the oceanview terrace and big eaters have many options to augment the standard continental breakfast that is included in the nightly rate. Our travelling companions had the same option of Hotel Flora. All in all, Hotel Flora is a great hotel and a great value.
