“Comfortable Modern Boutique-feeling Hotel”
Reviewed 10 May 2014

My girlfriend and I spent two nights in Capri as part of our 20-day tour of Italy and found ourselves at the very nice and comfortable Tiberio Palace. Our room was charming with a very pretty view over the town and down to the sea. We were well looked after and had very good massages and delicious breakfasts. The weather wasn't great so we didn't get to see the hotel in all its pomp, perhaps, under a blazing blue sky, but it was lovely all the same. It's very close to all the action in Capri, while feeling nice and quiet. My one complaint, which is a minor one, is the slight feeling that any requests for recommendations for places to eat will inevitably lead you to the restaurant belonging to a relative of the staff member you've asked. Although, this feeling may be unsubstantiated.

All in all, good spot.

Dear humphrey k,

It is a pleasure to receive your positive overall comments for your stay at Capri Tiberio Palace. This year, with a new SPA and totally refurbished pool area, we strive even further for our guests to be “spoilt” in every detail – from the homemade delicacies of our pastry chef to the warm service provided by our staff, our entire focus is to provide a total made-to-measure experience. Regarding the recommendations provided, we trust on a number of high quality restaurants in the island and this fact could have caused you an impression of too many choices provided with passion by our staff members. However, your comment will be passed on to our entire team in order not to incur again in a misleading impression in the future.

Kind Regards,

Francesca Tozzi

Se stayed here on the first leg of our Italian vacation. The hotel more than exceeded our expectation. Since we were traveling during the shoulder season, the hotel was not crowded and we were able to enjoy the amenities virtually undisturbed. The hotel has a pool (it was little too cold for us to try it out, but it was gorgeous), a spa with sauna and steam room and a terrace that overlooks the town.

The room was very large and beautifully appointed. The bed was extremely comfortable. The one gripe I have about the room is that the wifi was spotty at best. Most times I was only able to get a weak signal. If I wanted to do any serious web surfing, I would have to go to the lobby. Bathroom was large and clean. The room looked recently renovated but I didn't ask if it was.

Breakfast is served on the terrace. With the views they could've served us toast and it would have been amazing, but thankfully they didn't. The breakfast was a full american breakfast and the pastries were excellent.

The front desk staff were very friendly and helped us out with a boat tour of the island (including the Blue Grotto) and with restaurant recommendations. Everything they recommended was right on the money.

The hotel itself was beautifully decorated with interesting pieces of art everywhere you looked (in the lobby, down the halls, in the stairwell, in the room....you couldn't walk more than 4 feet without running into a new piece).

It's a big compliment when you are on an island as special as Capri and my wife looked forward to getting back to the hotel! After a long day of hiking and site seeing, an hour in the sauna and steam room is just what the doctor ordered.

The location is unique. The hotel is kind of on its own. Most of the other hotels are a bit further north, closer to the water. We didn't mind as we felt it was our own little secret place. If we stayed in one of the other hotels, I'm not sure we would have ever walked past Capri Tiberio Palace. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel. It was our favorite hotel on this trip and we thank the staff for making our stay special.

Dear ML016,

Thank you very much for your very kind review, it is a pleasure to know that you have enjoyed many aspects of Capri Tiberio Palace – from service to décor, breakfast as well as our Spa premises. As we are always aiming to provide the best in every detail to all guests, I appreciate you noting that the wi-fi connection was not properly functioning. The system is now improved in order to provide constant and excellent connectivity to all guests using this complimentary amenity.

I really hope to welcome you back in our “home” in a very near future.

Kind Regards,

Francesca Tozzi

My husband & I stayed at Capri Tiberio Palace for a week for our honeymoon this past September. We loved it! The hotel itself was in perfect shape, decorated very nicely and uniquely, and the rooms, pool, & restaurant were very comfortable.
The staff was very friendly and quick to accommodate. Because it was our honeymoon, we felt they took extra care to make sure we were having a nice romantic time and on a couple occasions came back to the room after being out to some nice chilled bubbly and cake from the chef.
The breakfast is also really nice. Made in house fresh pastries, and a good selection of local and american breakfast favorites. Pair that with fresh made cappuccino and mimosa and your set for a day in the town!
The pool was very relaxing because I think the season we went it wasn't that busy and there were no kids. I love kids, but on my honeymoon I just wanted to relax by the pool, enjoy the sound of the great lounge music playing and sip my champagne.
All in all, we really liked Capri and this Hotel really made us feel well taken care of.

Room Tip: The rooms with a balcony are really nice. A little extra but it is worth it. We spent a lot of time...

We had stayed at this hotel on 3 previous stays when it was a JW Marriott. . This was our first stay since the Tiberio changed hands. The hotel has been completed refurbished and has a sense of a boutique, intimate hotel. From the hotel manager down. all of the staff went out of their to ensure a great stay. From being greeted at the marina, check in, etc, staff was always helpful and accomodating. David in the bar was gracious. The breakfast buffet was included in our room rate and was fine. A complimentary mini bar with water, soft drinks and snacks was included. The hotel is well maintained and within walking distance of the middle part of the island. We will visit the Tiberio on future trips.

Room Tip: Our room was beautiful-had a beautiful balcony on the 3rd floor.

Stayed September 2013 for 7 nights; the hotel was a good choice: it just steps away from the main stream with lots of restaurants (loved Aurora restaurant) and stores. They have a guy meeting you at marina to take care of your luggage, very helpful. The downtown of Capri is all pedestrian, so no point taking a cab from marina, just funicular.
My room was on a second floor (220), quite specious with nice seaview. For picky sleepers, in the morning there is some noise from the street. Breakfast buffet was a bit limited, but the quality was good overall.
The only downfall, but what was important for me, was very bad WiFi connection. While i was able to connect (very weak) through my laptop, my smartphone was not able to stay on it. However, most all restaurants in the area offer free WiFi for diners.

Check out the Piano bar at Grand Qvisisana hotel, the guy is pretty good.
For sunset, the best spot is Faro point. You can take a cab there (30 euro one way from Capri), or by bus (3.60 one way).
Beautiful views of Capri from Anacapri’s Vila San Michele, check out Sphinx.

Cosmetically, the hotel was beautiful but there was more style than substance. For a 5 star hotel, there were a number of significant weaknesses; the swimming pool water was too cold for anyone to swim in; the breakfast was only OK and the wet suite looked a bit messy and "tired". Is it good value and Would we stay there again; probably not, I'm afraid

My husband and I (ages 27 & 31) stayed here for 3 nights.
- Staff friendly made everything easy on us, met us at the ferry, took care of our luggage, gave us cable car tickets.
- Cool hotel, great design, boutique feel
- High end but it didn't feel stiff or posh, very cool and comfortable
- Free mini bar with sodas/waters/beer chips/nuts and they restock the beverages, so AMAZING. I think they were able to do this because there's not really a bar staff by the pool. but this just was amazing you never see something so considerate.
- great spa we both got massages, they let you use the water/sauna/steam room area for free even if you don't get a massage
- Rooms were very nice, clean, comfortable, modern
- Free internet they give you the code at check in you dont even have to ask
- Free Breakfast was amazing, yum those nutella tarts!

Only feedback and very minor
- elevator is very dark, i know its mood lighting but hard to see what it says next to the numbers
