My wife and I spent the October half term break visiting our daughter who is studying at Naples University and wanted to be in the centre of Naples within easy walking distance of the sights and railway for easy access to Pompeii etc. We stumbled upon this gem of a hotel by chance and struck lucky. Located in an historic Neapolitan building this beautiful, slightly faded place has the most stunning breakfast room where they served a simple but delicious spread each morning with high quality coffee. The hotel was happy for our daughter to join us for breakfast at no charge. Don't be put off by the somewhat austere and understated entrance once inside you will feel welcome and relaxed. The room we had was not huge but larger than many I have stayed in, but tastefully furnished and had some character. They just do B&B so we were free to explore Naples's restaurants and pizzerias (like Gino Sorbillo which serves fantastic pizzas for €6 and I would put ahead of the more famous Da Michele, although be prepared to queue outside with the locals for a table on busy nights). Being so centrally located you are never more than a short walk to many of Naples fabulous sights so I can recommend it unreservedly as a base to explore this filthy, graffiti smothered but utterly charming and fascinating city.More
