“Great location, lovely staff”
Reviewed 22 June 2013

We spent the last two days of our vacation on the Amalfi Coast in this very good hotel. It is conveniently located on a quiet street, not far from Spaccanapoli and several pedestrian only (sort of) streets.
The room was quite large and very modern. The bathroom was very well appointed. The front desk staff was most helpful and provided good restaurant recommendations. On the first day, we received a voucher for a free drink at the bar. Salvatore, the barman, kept bringing plate after plate of delicious appetizers, on the house! On the following night, we went back, expecting to be charged for our drinks and appetizers, but nothing showed up on our invoice.
The only minor downside is that breakfast was a little basic and served in a room with no windows, behind the bar.

Lovely hotel - well located for all the sites and charming alley-ways of central Naples.I would go there again - tastefully furnished, contemporary design, clean, and well kept. Stunning chandelier in the entrance hall!

Breakfast is ok - I had limited options as I don't eat cheese or meat, but that is always tricky in italy! You can't eat at the hotel in the evening - but there are plenty of decent restaurants nearby.I liked the contemporary paintings in the lounge area.

I had problems with the air-con controls (even in March) so the room was stuffy and too hot to sleep until i opened the windows - which would not have worked in hot weather! What is going on with air-con in Naples - I had exactly the same problem the last time I stayed in Naples in another good hotel?

we have just returned from a fabulous few days in naples. Hotel was lovely. Reception staff couldn't do enough for you. Very helpfull. However, the catering staff let the hotel down somewhat. My husband requested breakfast in bed on the morning of my birthday. When the tray arrived the eggs were cold,no plates, glasses for juice but no juice, a huge amount of melon but no soft fruit that was specifically requested.
I rang down to request the bowl of prunes, berries etc. and was given the impression i was a bit of a nuisance. Another tray arrived with yet more melon and no soft fruits. I was told if i wanted anymore i could go down to the breakfast room and get it myself. Lovely.
It didn't let this hiccup ruin what was a fabulous stay in the hotel.

Stayed 3 nights in Naples and chose this hotel for its' proximity to the train station, Naples Centrale. Although the area looks a bit suspect, it is in fact quite safe and steps away from the main tourist walking streets, the hotel itself is clean, modernized, the staff is warm and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. The room we stayed in (The Superior King Bed Room) was comfortable, large and the daily housekeeping excellent. The staff was helpful in every way: from recommending restaurants, to calling for our taxi.
Please note: When going to Naples, make sure you hire Taxi's that are white cars with the Naples City Emblem on them and have Prezza Predetermina (Fixed Price or predetermined pricing) and, have a meter in them. There are many scams both from the Airport and the Train Station so be aware!
If we have occasion to return to Naples, we will definitely stay at the Albergo Palazzo Decumani again, Mille Grazie per tutto!

I had bought my wife tickets to the Bruce Springsteen concert in Naples and we needed a hotel that was walking distance to the Piazza del Plebiscito. This was a great find about 30 minutes away in the historic part but on the edge of the fashionable shopping streets! The Palazzo Decumani is in a quiet side street and has been tastefully and beautifully converted into a boutique hotel. Do take up the offer of a free drink in the bar - the service is terrific with delicious snack accompaniments. It was also a bonus to be in the heart of the historic quarter with so many sites of interest within a short walk. Our 2 night stay in Naples was delightful, there was so much more to see than we imagined and the concert was brilliant too (despite a downpour halfway through)!

Location: Excellent. All Naples highlights in a 20 min radius

Immediate environment: First view from exiting hotel is landscape of overfilled dumpsters.

Desk Staff: Superb. Personable and considerate

Housekeeping: Inadequate for any hotel. Room floors were dirty during entire visit. Room trash left in bins. Common stairwell in the center of the hotel was obviously in need of a professional cleaning.

Bar: Great Barman. Good snacks.

My husband and I (along with my sister and brother-in-law) spent 3 days in Naples and this precious small hotel, a recently restored palazzo, remains one of our warmest memories of our stay in Naples. The staff, extremely kind and friendly, made us feel at home immediately and were helpful resolving whatever problems or questions we had during our stay. Special thanks to Salvatore who works at the bar (whom also other travelers have praised on Tripadvisor for his helpfulness and kindness – and rightly so!) and to Barbara who works at the reception. It is often the personnel of a hotel that makes travelers return, and this is particularly true for us.
However, the hotel can also boast of lovely rooms: spacious, clean, bright. And the location – a 2 minute walk to Spaccanapoli – is perfect. We were able to go out in the evening for a walk or for dinner without having to take our car or a taxi! f we ever go back to Naples, we will surely go back to Palazzo Decumani.
The only defect I could fine was perhaps the expresso coffee for breakfast. In Naples you could get better expresso. Otherwise, a great place!!! and there's a bar right at the corner which has excellent expresso.
