We had two rooms and both were great. We loved the location. The street is blocked off for cars so it is super safe and great for walking and an excellent view of the castle. The service was excellent and we loved the buffet breakfast, lots of choice but still very Italian. We were within walking distance of the hop on hop off bus and we did two routes, which I highly recommend. We also walked down the coast to the embassy area which was a scenic walk. The gym is smaller and there is a fee to use the indoor pool but that did not matter as we did not have time to use. Rooms are definitely bigger for Europe, a bit older but turndown service is good and the room is very dark for a great sleep at night! We loved the little cocktail bar at night. Prosecco served with some light hors d'oeurves.

A pleasure to stay at the Vesuvio...very close to almost everything. The staff was great, the service also...you cannot miss the restaurant on the top floo with a breathtaking view on the sea !!
If you go for business you will find a nice and quiet place to rest after your day, if you go with your other half is a romantic stay !!

My wife and I stayed here while visiting the Amalfi Coast. This hotel is a 20-30 minute drive from the Airport thru congested Naples. Be sure to negotiate cab fare before getting into cab. The hotel itself is on the Bay of Naples with excellent views of the Bay and the Castle across the street. It is located on a pedestrian street that seemed very safe and pleasant at night. There are innumerable restaurants walking distance.
Check in was simple and pleasant. I found the desk staff to be always helpful. The hotel is nicely maintained. The rooms were generous in size and the bed very comfortable. The view from the balcony of the harbor room was very nice.
Two negatives are the charge for the pool and wifi. I think the wifi should be included.

My husband and I needed only one night in Naples to make early connecting flights the next morning. The Vesuvio was beautiful, the staff was extraordinarily helpful and the setting wonderful. We had a beautiful balcony room overlooking the marina.
The staff was fabulous. I was having difficulty confirming my Alitalia flights, and they spent a great deal of time trying to help. Our flight was at 7AM, so with a looming taxi strike set for 6AM they arranged our transportation the night before, and were ready to help with a 4AM wake-up call. They also recommended a great restaurant as their rooftop was closed Mondays.
The only improvement would be free wi-fi access as €30/day seems pricy, as well as €30 to use the pool.

Room Tip: Request a balcony seaview

The Grand Hotel Vesuvio perfectly fits the image of the turn-of-the-century Grand Tour Hotel. We had a room with a view of the bay of Naples and the Vesuvio. No problem with noise once you close the window. The bathroom was luxurious! The hotel restaurants are extremely expensive but the bar serves food that is reasonably priced and truly delicious, much better than that of the restaurants that line the Via Partenope. Like many large hotels, the service at the desk was courteous, though a bit impersonal and not always very efficient, as we found out when we tried to reserve a taxi to the airport. Visiting Naples proved to be more demanding than I thought: take taxis but expect to walk a lot no matter what. It was nice to come back to the room after a long day of exploring.

Room Tip: We got a pre-paid room with a view at an excellent rate on the 4th floor.

This hotel is in the perfect setting in this vibrant city. We loved naples but it was nice to come back to the peace of this traffic free street by the bay.
The staff were good the views excellent and the hotel in General was really good.
The only thing keeping this from a 5 star review is, when you pay this money for a hotel I would expect the wifi to be free.

Naples was very dirty. This was away from a lot of that graffiti and mess.
The hotel was nice. It had metal blackout shades which helped with the sound too. Without an alarm I never would have known the sun had risen.
The room was decent. The bathroom was very cramped, but it was also oddly shaped so not very room is the same. The staff was nice, but once put us into a cab that didn't run the meter and shafted us on the price. Breakfast was good.
