It took me a soap opera for me to visit this jewel in the otherwise impossible place where I was born

“Way Underrated by the Guidebooks”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2013 via mobile

Almost across the street from our hotel, this medieval complex is not t be missed. Renaissance tombs for two of the Caracciolo are reminiscent of the Medici tombs by Michelangelo in Florence (albeit without the spectacular renaissance architectural elements). But not to be missed are the much earlier tombs and altars that adorn this church, including two extensive though not complete fresco cycles in very different styles from different periods.

“Best Church to See in Naples”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2012

This place is a gem. Founded in 1343 by Augustines and then restored and enlarged by French( Angevins) , and later Tuscans and Lombards and later Spaniards ( and more, see the tour books) the place retains the sacredness, grandness and imprint of them all. Refreshing and light.
