“Great place!”
Reviewed 28 January 2014

We selected this place after reading the reviews on tripadvisor. It was a good decision. We only stayed one night but our hosts were very gracious and helpful.

On the way to the B&B our cab driver warned us that we were staying in the Spanish quarter and to be careful! But we found our hosts to be very helpful and they provided us with directions, a map and suggestions for food and sightseeing. When we returned in the evening we were too tired after all the walking to go out to dinner and they graciously ordered our pizza and wine from a restaurant and had it delivered. They set up the dining room usually reserved for breakfast so we could enjoy our meal. It was so lovely to relax in there after our long day.

The next day they allowed us to store our luggage after we checked out and again offered suggestions for touring. We returned later to retrieve our luggage.

It was a delightful place to stay. There's an elevator for the use of the guests and a nice breakfast to start the day. From its location you can walk to the spaccanapoli area or to the coast (and more traditional shopping). Our room was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. In our bathroom there was an overhead tank of hot water that the kids were unaware of and found themselves showering with cold water because they showered too long.

Yes, what you read about Naples is true. It's dirty with garbage piled in the streets. The bank we walked by had been egged and still late morning no one had cleaned it off. Yes, some of the cab drivers will rip you off if you don't strike a bargain in advance. Yet, some of the most gracious and personable people we met were in Naples.

I hope to get to Naples again (24 hours wasn't enough!) and I want to stay here!

Room Tip: My brother had a "single" and he found it rather small for his tastes so if traveling alon...

We stayed at the Spaccanapoli Suites for four nights last April.

There's not getting away from the fact that the B&B is located on the outer edge of Spaccanapoli. At times, the walk to and from the B&B can be daunting - especially at night when the neighbourhood really does come alive! That said, at no time did we ever feel in danger and it added to an authentic experience.

We had very gracious hosts who were happy to help us with sightseeing information, maps etc. The B&B is located in a traditional apartment building which gives it so much character! I loved it.

Our room wasn't anything fancy but it was homely and we had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. We had a great sleep each night and there were no issues with noise. The B&B is comfortable and there is a huge library of books which guests can help themselves to...as long as you return them before you leave! A really nice touch.

Breakfast offered all the usual items and there was plenty on offer to give you a good start to the day.

Naples is a city like no other and when I return, I'll be staying here again.

The staff here cannot be praised enough: courteous, efficient, extremely helpful and generous with their time. In addition, the rooms are spacious and clean, the breakfast is good (although the 'cornetti' pastries are a little dry - but lovely with cappuccino). The only doubt I had was the B&B's location in the Quartieri Spagnoli, which isn't the best, but if you don't walk around shouting about your new gold Rolex you'll be absolutely fine - in fact, it's a great opportunity to see how 'real' Neapolitans live.

Do stop in the little 'bar's (coffee shops which also sell pastries and/or savoury fast food) and try the pizzerie and trattorie/osterie restaurants in the area - it's a chance to savour Neapolitan cuisine, which is so much more than pizza (which are incomparably more delicious than anywhere outside Naples)! One thing to look out for in restaurants, particularly at lunchtime, is staff attempting to peddle starters (a way of making money) unless of course you want to get tasters of local cuisine.

Staying in Naples over the New Year was an amazing experience made all the more enjoyable because Spaccanapoli Comfort Suites was such a tranquil peaceful contrast to the streets of Naples. It was a wonderful experience to enter the quiet and comfortable surrounds each evening.
The hospitality and helpful approach from all the staff could not be faulted. Umberto and all staff were always ready to advise on how to make the best of our time in Napoli. The breakfasts of cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, and local pastries and specialties including cheeses and cured meats, were plentiful and satisfying. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Book early to ensure one of the larger rooms.

this is IT. a really super b&b, really a small hotel. it makes your stay in naples a positive one. it makes your opinion of the neopolitans a positive one. central location in a good clean (!!) area of naples - not as distant as some reviewers seem to place it.
large "olde worlde" comfortable rooms. wonderful breakfast served in large dignified dining room. nice baths. elevator from ground level!! largish welcoming lobby to hang out in and talk to the staff. the english speaking 24 hour staff is the most competent, incredibly helpful, and friendly you will find in europe. the owner is a charming, sophisticated, caring, highly qualified, dependable man. all the staff here are of a level of sophistcation and education to be in awe of. the street noise mentined in other reviews i did not hear, as there are double windows. but, hear this, anyone staying in a historic city center in italy is going to have to deal with street noise - cars motorbikes, and after-restaurant, and after-bar stollers. !! but here it was not a problem.

Room Tip: i heard from one of our group that the rooms off the back courtyard were noisy, the street facing ro...

Ok...so the neighborhood is a little edgy and gritty, but I really liked that. It is what you come to Naples for and you are right there. Frankly, refreshing after some of the more touristy areas in Italy. The building is a wonderful 17th century structure and these guys did a nice job with the renovations. Our room was the basic model and it was fine. The bath had trendy Italian design fixtures, new and very clean. The breakfast/common room was a restored example of 19th century decoration and light filled and lovely. The breakfast was very good with everything you would want. The BEST aspect...the staff. They were wonderful. Friendly, helpful and interested in making your stay there and Naples a good time. They sat down with us and showed us were to do walking tours, where to eat, etc. My traveling companion had to get a taxi at 4:30 in the morning for the airport and these guys made sure it was there at exactly 4:30.
