Mercure Napoli Angioino Centro

Reviewed 24 May 2011

While we waited our turn to check in, one client came back because she'd just been given the key to a room with a couple sleeping in the bed. We had prepaid our stay for a cheaper rate and our room was so small it was hard to move past the luggage on the floor to get to the window or the bed, and impossible if one of us sat at the desk. Once we finally got the air conditioner to go on (by turning it to "heat" rather than "cool") the ceiling vent started dripping, and there was a large standing puddle by morning. No WiFi, just cable internet. The only plus for us was the location, which was a quick walk to/from the Capri ferries.

Dear traveller, first of all I would like to thank you in order to have dedicated time in writing your comments. Above all I would like to specify that, about your right observation about the client that came back because she'd just been given the key to a room with a couple sleeping in the bed, sometimes the persons who works can make a mistake, and in the specific case the person who made the check in was a stage in training... I assure you that the reception , due to this exceptional situation, provided to change room with all necessary apologies . Moreover I would like to specify that the hotel is equipped with rooms whose dimension, according to the room type chosen and reserved, is absolutely in compliance with the Italian law in matter, and anyway it is not different for the same room category( we do not have single or double rooms larger or smaller than other single or double rooms, all the same room types have the same dimension, and normally the double room is larger than single room), I am sorry that you have not been satisfied. I would like to assure you that for us all the customers are the same, we reserve to all the welcome and the service necessary in order to make their stay a beautiful experience, we do not make distinction between who pays less using prepaid promotions, and who pays more.
I assure you that if during your stay you should have informed the reception about your uneasiness about the insufficiency of space in room, we would even have supplied to a change of room type (we have registered no requests of room change during the period of your stay). We are in these days finishing the complete renovation of all the rooms, (soon we will have also a beautiful terrace on the Angioino Male for breakfast service), and in order to this total renovation, sometimes it can happen that, as evidently in your case, there should be some little technical problems, but I assure that in this case, the reception and maintenance staff is ready to find a solution, also in order to change room (we have registered no requests of maintenance from guests during the period of your stay) At last about the wifi, it is true, actually we have only Internet via cable, but soon we will implement also wifi free in all the rooms, service at this point more and more demanded.During your stay the informations about services in the rooms were not correct (we have yet changed them).I am anyway at your disposal if you desire to put in contact with me directly, and I hope in the future to welcome you again.Sincerely yours and… good next travel.

Don't bother going to Naples until unless it is a must. Where as the Hotel is concerned - good value for money - good location - good rooms and bathrooms. - good staff.

Negative points were - rooms were not ready at 1:30 pm though check in is 12 pm.
Flies in the room - but really expect that in Naples.
No kettle in the room- the least any hotel can do.

Excellently positioned hotel in central Naples.
It will be even better when they have finished the refurbishments!
The rooms are comfortable and clean.
Breakfast is above average for Italy.
Overall a good choice and good value for money.

Dear traveller,
first of all i would like to thank you for the time you have spent in writing about us. In order to your dissatisfaction , it is for me important to inform you that our services do not include free wifi in rooms and also in common areas. All public hotel informations are in this sense. Actually we offer only paying wifi Vodafone. Our interest is in satisfying all our guests, and at the same time there is no interest to give false informations .For this reason I kindly ask you to let us know (also by hotel mail) where you have read that wifi in our rooms is free. In this way you will help us to modificate eventual mistakes. I thank you and I hope to see you again in Naples and in our hotel.
Best regards
