“We liked it a lot!”
Reviewed 14 April 2014

We stayed in Siri hotel with my husband for 12 days in March 2014. We liked this hotel a lot. Nice staff, clean and quiet rooms, nice design, close to train station from where you can go to Amalfi Coast, Pompeii and more. Close to the local market where you can buy very tasty Italian food like fruits, vegetables, real Italian bread (pane) which we miss in America. I watched TV every evening in the hall and did not see any bad staff. I liked the channel 18 with shows about Italian furniture – the best in the World. It inspired me to buy 2 pieces of furniture in antique store (probably made in Italy 50 or 100 years ago) when we returned back to US. I tried to understand Italian language on news channels – it is very interesting to hear news on different languages. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and anybody else.

We arrived late in the afternoon in Napoli. We knew nothing about the area apart from the fact that in Napoli you should always be careful about everything. We stopped at each hotel we meet and ask about room availability, to see the room, price etc. After 3-4 hotel stops we met Hotel Siri. After seeing the room and talking with the people at the reception straight away we knew that this is the one!!! The room we stayed was refurbished and clean. Breakfast was tasteful. The price was normal. And the most important the people were just perfect!! Very helpful, friendly and made you feel safe. A very big thank you to Lucas, to the girl with the beautiful eyes who works at the reception mornings and to all people who helped us but i can't remember their names.

We like this area of Napoli, and the hotel is in the middle of it, very close to the train station. The manangement had recently changed, they are super friendly (especially the young lady at the reception). The breakfast is - Italian style (just in case you need more, you can get fresh bread, ham, cheese from the shops in the neighbourhood).
We very much enjoyed Ida's homemade cake! Ask for it at the reception. It's not in the regular breakfast.

Room Tip: many rooms have balcony (for smokers!), some w flea market view

This hotel was a good price and near the main train station, but the streets surrounding it were a bit seedy. The street it was on had a few prostitutes, human poop, and makeshift fireplaces along the sidewalk. The hotel itself was beautiful with large rooms and a nice owner.

first of all I have to start this review by mentioning how different my experience of this hotel was from a lot of other reviewers. I found the staff polite and helpful even though I have broken Italian and most of them no English but they were patient and tried. the room was kept clean and tidy with safe, TV, fridge, plenty of towels and complimentary toiletries and air conditioning. fresh towels each day on my 3 day stay. breakfast was excellent. cereal, tea, coffee, fruit juice, toast, jams/spreads etc, bread, meat, cheese, fresh cornetti and fruit yogurts which is all self-service. each morning the same member of staff greeted us and offered coffee which he made and brought over to our table in the comfortable lounge/bar area. on the day we checked out the staff kindly offered to watch our luggage for no charge as our flight was later and we wanted to enjoy some more of the city before going home. of the surrounding area, it isn't great but Hotel Siri is only metres from the main road which is always busy and has a police presence at night. it is also worth mentioning I travelled with my son who is 7 and we never felt unsafe at all. the train station area is a 5 minute walk away and not good at night but we always headed in the opposite direction to the heart of the city for our evening meals so didn't even take notice.

Some of the scariest moments in my life. Yes it is close to the train station but really not that cheap as the location is below bad. Obvious prostitution in the area, the street was full of trash and some really seedy looking folks and I am a New York, Washington D.C veteran. Arriving with backpacks after dark with my 12 y.o. Daughter probably wasn't the best idea but it was the only train that came from our destination. It truly was like being in some very bad horror flick for s few moments. In the morning we were awakened by very loud talking...turns out the trash strewn alley beside the hotel is really a second hand flea market, run entirely by men who like to yell a lot, early in the AM.
The room was big but the bathroom had not been cleaned and there were a pile of shower gel wrappers in the the shower making me wonder how many people had come and gone before we got there that day.

In addition upon checkout there were considerable problems as no one, at all , spoke any language but Italian---yeah, I know it is ITALY but usually given it is a place serving lots of foreign guests that there would be a little bit of effort. The older gentleman at the desk insisted we pay addition taxes even though our prepaid reservation stated all fees and taxes were included. We gave him 20e and stood waiting for change that he wasn't forth coming. In the meantime a taxi arrived and the insisted we get in it... Turns out our protests about the added "Taxes". Sounded like we wanted a Taxi... Fair enough but then we continued to wait for our 16e change back ...which wasn't coming...he insisted that it was his and. We needed to pay more for my 12 y.o. Daughter because we were 3' even though the reservations was for 3. He couldn't tell us how much more she would be and since there was a another couple also arguing about the tax, he angrily called the owner said too bad and slammed the phone down. At this point I called him a choice name and we gathered our stuff and wanted to spit at the door as we left. Book at your own risk!

Bad hotel in a bad area, think again and take something elsewere in Napoli! Homeless people living outside and prostitutes walk the streets. The hotel work toghether with and let prostitutes walk in with there costumers. One afternoon we saw a man and a women come in, they sat in the lobby five min before going in to a room. They came out again after 30 min and went separate ways. Then a man in a suit came up from the reception, took out the dirty sheets from the room and went to get new ones. On top of all this the staff is really rude and impolite and you cant sleep because of all the noice from the lobby late at night and again early in the morning! The worse hotel i have seen in Italy! And my experience is not unique, check other reviews if you still have doubts!
