Especially the treatment from the reception people.
Location of hotel - is perfect: near the old city, the port.

Room Tip: One have to ask at the desk for internet connections.

The reception staff was courteous and helpful. Location is excellent for seeing the sights in Naples, and is quite near to the Train Station, the Funicularie, the Metro and the bus.The rooms were comfortable and housekeeping was efficeint. Good breakfast. Good air conditioning in the room. The room has no window but only a exit to the balcony.

This was my second 3 week stay at the Oriente and until my wife's diamond rings disappeared from our room, the visit was wonderful. Very dissatisfied with the effort put forth to find the missing rings - felt as if the hotel was covering up not only the employee who might have picked them up, but also their reputation. Will not be staying here again.

The hotel is one of the older hotels in the downtown Naples area, a two minute walk to Via Toledo, the main downtown street with hundreds of clothing, jewelry stores and places to enjoy a quick snack, excellent pizza, pastries or a full meal. The rooms are very clean, the bed exceptionally comfortable, the breakfast buffet outstanding and the hotel staff are without a doubt the most friendly and helpful I have ever seen. For the most part, the hotel is occupied by tourist and short time business travelers. My wife and I stayed in the hotel for three weeks, myself on business and the wife enjoying a three week vacation. This was our fourth 3 week visit to Naples in two years, but the first time we stayed at the Oriente, it will not be our last stay at this hotel.

Booked this hotel already feeling a little nervous, but decided to try it out ( this is my first time in Naples by the way). First impression on arrival : front desk staff was attentive, didn't speak very much English but were helpful . The bellman ( who was a bit sassy ) seemed shocked by the amount of luggage. Two adults , 3 suitcases ( all of which had wheels).. not THAT big a deal.If I can carry them on/off trains, in an airport, surely you can load them onto your cart and dump them in our room. Checked in, was taken to the room which, although very clean, looked like a large green flowery monster ( we booked a superior room). Parts of the room were falling apart, the bathroom needed updating as well. The beds are comfortable, internet was free ( when it worked - also annoying to get a new username/password everyday)Noisy in the evenings ( from 11pm - 2am). Really good blinds though. Lots of supermarkets/ good pizzerias around so you can buy things to nibble on in the evenings. Breakfast: The chairs which I'm sure were beautiful one day, were now falling apart. The eggs were cold every day I had them ( bad luck or just crappy eggs... not sure) They did try though. The male breakfast staff was attentive and there was quite a selection to choose from. Bit repetitive though. Cappuccinos were amazing. Maid service is great.

Overall, wouldn't stay here again. The NH Ambassador is like two blocks away and much nicer. It's in a good location in terms of getting to the metro, harbour area etc. but once you walk around a few times, you realise that Naples isn't THAT big a city really. The front desk staff was really friendly and helpful interms of pointing out nice areas to go/where not to go . They did try their best to be 4 star, but to be honest, this hotel is WAY past it's prime. I work in the hotel industry and quite honestly.. this place is a bit of a joke ( I actually found myself laughing out loud a few times). Naples is great though! Chiaia, Porto and Vomero are beautiful areas and make sure to see Pompei, Vesuvio , Capri and Ischia ( AMAZING). If you stay here ( or in the area) have pizza at CIRO ( Piazza Municipio) - amazing!

The hotel is well located on a quiet modern street just off Via Toledo and close to major attractions and shopping areas.
This said, it is quite difficult to find other positive aspects about this (apparently) 4 stars establishment. Service ranges from snotty and unwelcoming at the reception to friendly but inefficient in the restaurants. Rooms are possibly the worst part of the hotel: even though they are quite large, their decor is very dated and the room I stayed in had several problems: broken shower box, window couldn't be closed, lights did not work.
Overall not a very pleasant experience and probably for the same price you could find a lot of better options in the same area.

They call themselves a 4-star hotel, but our experience at the charming 3-star Hotel Bellini far surpassed this. It was old, dingy and set in a part of town, albeit near the happening Via Toledo, which was not charming, with construction all around. When we were there between April 3-5, the entire air-conditioning system was down, so too the internet connection. The room that our friends were initially assigned to emanaged a loud sound from its failed aircon system which could be heard from the corridor. It was altogether an unpleasant experience, not worth its going rate.
