The staff was helpful and friendly.
The room was nice and clean.
The hotel is near the Central Train Station (about 300m).
Breakfast was served in the basement of the hotel and was not tasty.
The price was really low and the standard of a hotel was good for Naples conditions.

We stayed one night while traveling through Italy. The room was a quadruple, a double bed plus two singles, which was good as we were with our kids. The sheets were clean and the room was too. I would have preferred that the curtains closed, as our room was right by the lit up hotel sign, which was very bright. There were lots of gauzy fancy drapes but they could have saved the money and spent it on a good blackout blind! The location is excellent if you are just passing through Naples, right by the station, but if you are visiting for a few days it would be better to find one a little further from the station and the square, as the traffic can get very noisy. The bathroom was basic but the basin blocked up a few times. The worst thing about this hotel was the breakfast, served in a poky and claustrophobic basement room. Everything was the cheapest possible, the coffee was terrible, the chopped tomatoes tasted of ham, which was nasty as we're vegetarian, we had to ask for some items which were not there and we had plastic knives. Reception was helpful and recommended places to eat but this hotel is very close to some scary streets where you don't feel very safe, so be careful which direction you take when coming out of the hotel.

Room Tip: The front can be very noisy

This hotel has one big plus: Location. Situated on the central square (filled with restaurants), next to the central station it's the perfect place to get to know this amazing city.

It's not the most luxurious hotel (water pressure is a bit low, so is the drainage, and some other minor issues that belong to a 3-star hotel), but it's definately worth the money (about 30 Euro's a night). Our airconditioner worked just fine. The breakfast is basic, yet adequate. The beds are OK.

The service is great, the receptionists speak English adequately, are willing to show you the highlights of Napoli and give you directions. They are really friendly (especially Margherita)

Again, keep in mind what you're paying, adjust your expectations. Don't come if you want a 5-star luxury hotel, but do consider this when you want to explore Naples and need a good starting point.

Greetings From Holland!

the hotel is right next to the train station making it ideal for those arriving on late trains and flights (airport is 15-20 mins away by public bus).

rooms were small but clean, shower was powerful and air con worked fine. the breakfast was typical european, read ham, croissants and eggs, but very much like a hostel.

for the price it was great value though, and i would certainly go again. anyone expecting more for 30 euros has too high expectations.

staff were very helpful and wifi free and string in public areas

Room Tip: rooms at the front are bigger but noisier

This hotel is far from ideal, because the rooms/bathrooms were very very small and the ventilation wasn't effective; the room was old looking, and it was extremely hot if you trurned off the air conditioning. Talking about air conditioning, we had a hard time turning it off, because it wasn't responsive. The opposite case happened to our friends who couldn't turn it on. The hotel doesn't have its own parking lot, so we had to find a place to park the car streets away. The ladies from the reception were nice, but there were too many minuses to return to Hotel Ideal.

It's like the famous Muppet Show talk between Waldorf and Statler:
Statler: "We got our money's worth tonight" ... Waldorf: "But we paid nothing!" . Statler: "that's what we got!" .
The hotel is located in the very heart of Napoli, and offers very basic services for a really low price. So you know what to expect. For us it worked for one night.

Our family of five had a lovely stay here in the first week of August, in a five-bed room (one double, three singles), with en-suite. We were given room 50, at the end of the corridor on the first floor. This was great for us - no through "traffic" noise from the corridor, and we had the added bonus of an outdoor patio area, which was great for us once the kids were asleep. We could also pick up the hotel free Wi-Fi signal from it. The room air-con worked a treat. The bathroom wasn't enormous and showed signs of aging, but the cheerful cleaning staff had done their best to clean what they could.

The breakfast was served in the basement, and for the price, we couldn't fault it. We always found there to be more than enough cooked breakfast and warm croissants available.

There's a nice little bar, reasonably priced, too. The "reading room" is pleasant enough and we all hung out there at times, using the free Wi-Fi. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant.

The location is city-centre, and so you shouldn't be surprised to find yourself situated in a busy city-centre. It's great for catching buses and trains. Can't see why people complain about this on Trip Advisor, but then we didn't have a room at the front of the building.

Whilst it wasn't up-market, I can't say I was mis-lead from the website, and so, hey, you get what you pay for. We would be more than happy to stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the end of the corridor on the first floor.
