The menue as a whole is inspired, with delicately thought out and executed dishes, but there is nothing more sinfull as having the "tastings dinner". My friend took the sea combination, and I took the "earth one", with 4 different type of vegetarian starters, a main dish of piglet with figs, and the most amazing chocolate dessert.
A bit too much food for my capacity, but all dishes where worth my time ( though not finished).
Good service, and reasonable prices (the huge tasting dinner 35€, and other dishes around 14-16€).

We made a reservation for this restaurant as we had read good reviews. The email response which came back was a little confusing so we asked our hotel to confirm the booking, and all was well. On arrival we were seated promptly but then had to wait a while for menus. Looking around at the restaurant the style was very quirky, modern but with little rustic touches. When the waiter came over we asked for a glass of prosecco each, but I had to politely point out that one of the glasses was dirty. The waiter returned with a different shape and size glass. It was just a small thing but seemed a bit strange. We were brought some good grissini and a selection of homemade bread (where the basket itself was made out of bread - very imaginative), then an amuse bouche of pecorino, tomato and basil mousse which was delicious. We spent quite a while selecting what we wanted from the menu, as there were so many interesting choices. When the waiter came to take our order a couple of the choices we wanted were not available. We really felt that the waiter could have warned us that certain items were not available because he obviously knew already. We went ahead to select some mixed seafood to share for an antipasti, which was fresh and tasted excellent. Then for primi we shared spaghetti with pesto which was good. For secondi we had the bacon & bacon and steak with peppercorn sauce which were both flavoursome. They both came with bitter greens which were not to our taste, but were not the main component of the dish so were fine. For dessert they didn't have the choice I wanted so I had a kind of chocolate mousse ball with chocolate sauce which was beautifully presented and delicious. Throughout the evening the service was polite enough but it was difficult to get attention and there were some long gaps between courses although it wasn't very busy. When it came to paying the bill we waited a while to be noticed and then we had to ask twice before it was brought. This spoilt our experience a little but because the overall standard and presentation of the cooking was so good we would still recommend this place, they just need to bring their level of service up to match the food.

Had lunch here and it was very good.

Fabulous eggplant parmigiana, excellent grilled fish and average steak (all from the daily menu), and a delicious (but very rich) dark chocolate bombe with a hazelnut base. The mains don't come with much on the side apart from some iceberg lettuce. Good house wine.

Small seating area (reservations needed for dinner, not usually needed for lunch). Setting at lunchtime is informal but gracious. Very warm service from an older couple (maybe the owners?). Prices much lower on the daily lunch menu than on the a la carte menu - a large helping of the eggplant parmigiana was 5 euros and the mains were about 10 euros as I recall.

Would have happily gone back except we discovered it towards the end of our stay.

This is not my first time here, but I was away since a while. Again Raffaele Cardillo confirmed to be an authentic talent. He knows how to select ingredients of the highest quality and to valorize them. My wife and myeself shared vermicelli with scampi, outstanding, with raw scampi tails on the top, and vermicelli with see urchin's rows, a gourmet recipe, quite rare to find in a restaurant. The way Raffaele treats baccalao is amazing (with 4 or 5 different recipes highlighting the falvor of the cod). I had a huge portion of "pesce serra", the mediterranean equivalent of blue fish, perfectly cooked (the "serra" is a difficult one, because it can easily become though) in the oven and served with scarola and black olives patè. A dark chocolate mattonella seated on a pastry made with hazelnut, was an appropriate end of a terrific dinner. Obvious to say, the wine list is excellent, especially for the wines of the Campania district.
