We took part in an English guided tour led by Eva who is Greek. Her English was good but the challenge is hearing her because of other tour groups talking in Italian nearby and the poor acoustics of the chambers we were in underground. The tour last for one hour 20 minutes and moves between two venues so you walk above ground to reach the second site. It is certainly an interesting experience viewing the vast underground chambers created by the Roman water supply. It is pretty cool once underground so take a coat. Half the fun is walking through a "squeeze" section about 30 yards long to reach a further chamber. No good if you are well built, you have to walk sideways and rucksacks have to be removed or you get wedged in! You have to do it again on the return leg, so beware if you suffer from claustrophobia! The second venue reveals part of the original Roman Ampitheatre (the rest is still hidden away under 40 modern dwellings). The tour is interesting and different and worth the 10 Euros we each paid.

We attended the 12:00 tour and neither of us understood the point of the tour upon its conclusion. Very little information was shared other than a 5minute introduction.
The tour going through the small tunnels appears to be completely set up for tourists and the water in the tunnels is purely there for the tour. It is not historic in any way.
The addition of the ‘theatre’ was totally unrealistic and did not look anything like a theatre at all. It could have all been very much made up for tourism as far as we were concerned.
The tour guide, Eva was polite enough and knew the route, but there was little time for additional conversation or question, as there are tours non stop behind each other!

Interesting place to visit for an hour. Guided tours available but not a must. The museum is interesting.

A must see. Youngsters will find it fun and exciting, adults will find it informative and interesting. We had two fantastic young guides, Vincent and Evie. Not a place for claustrophobia sufferers.

This would not rank high on our “must-do” list. There were about 45 people in our group. €10 per person and the guides can take no tips. You can pay when you take the tour but during the busy season think about buying ahead of time. Our guide Eva did a great job and has a good voice for this kind of tour work. No ear buds, lasted about 1 hour, 20 minutes with 20 minutes in an ancient amphitheater which is outside and down the street and felt like an “add-on” but somewhat interesting.
This underground tour for us rates about a 5 with Eva doing a great job.
