“Elegant Neapolitan Oasis”

After a spending quiet time in pastoral Paestum, we were ready for the excitement of Naples. Our introduction met that expectation. Upon our arrival, down a serpentine road, we witnessed two instances of vehicles hitting pedestrians. Was this unusual? Perhaps not. One victim, a middle aged matron, simply picked herself up, shook herself off like a stunned deer, lit a cigarette and walked off. After this, we were ready for anything.

Behind the gates of Casa Rubinacci we were greeted by Carmella and her son, Salvatore, two of the three members of a family who care for the guests. Although each of us was ignorant of the other's language, Carmella and Salvatore were able to orient us to our lovely suite (Cashmere) and our immediate neighborhood. Monica, the property manager, then filled in the blanks. Throughout our stay she was our reliable guide to Naples and the perfect hostess.

We stayed in Casa Rubinacci for a week and found it ideal for our needs. A metro station and taxi stand were a few paces from the door. We enjoyed exploring the neighborhood and surrounding areas. The Villa Comunale park and the waterfront are an easy stroll. As luck would have it, our visit coincided with Vomera a Notte, a night time street festival of food, music and dancing. Our suite at Casa Runinacci was spacious, airy and well kept. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom has a full tub and shower and the kitchen is functional for light meals. If we required an item, Carmella provided it quickly. She also did our laundry. We enjoyed the rooftop terrace with spectacular views of the city and the Bay of Naples and relaxed in comfort on a lower shaded terrace. Shortly before leaving we visited Signore Rubinacci in his elegant shop . It was the weekend of its grand re-opening in a new location in a five hundred year old castle. He graciously provided a tour of his establishment, regaling us with tales of its history.

This was our fourth trip to Naples. At last, we found in Casa Rubinacci the one place we will stay each time we return.

“Great Experience!”

I stayed in the Vigogna Suite for two weeks and enjoyed every moment of it. The staff is extremely hospitable and the entire residence is very clean and well maintained. The property manager, Monica, went out of her way to assist me with every need that I had. Casa Rubinacci is also in a great location. There is public transportation (train station, bus stops, and taxi stand) in very short walking distance if required. I never used any of these personally...there are so many great places in such short walking distance to include great restaurants and shops. For a little bit further of a walk, but still relatively close (a perfect distance to burn some calories from all the great food, while still not too far) you can go to any of these locations: Piazza Amedeo (also has a Funicolare that can take you up to Vomero and Piazza Vanvitelli), Piazza dei Martiri, Piazza San Pasquale, Riviera di Chiaia, and also Mergellina. In such a small area, you can't find better restaurants, shopping, drinking establishments, and great sights.

“Casa Rubinacci exemplifies the elegance and beauty of Napoli”
Reviewed 17 April 2012 for a stay in May 2011

I was assigned to Napoli with the U.S. Navy and was lucky enough -- my wife, Angela, actually found Casa Rubinacci on Trip Advisor -- to find Casa Rubinacci and get a long term lease there. I lived there for nearly a year -- and loved every second of it. The most gracious owner, Mariano Rubinacci, met me personally, invited me for coffee and welcomed me to the home where he grew up. Casa Rubinacci was the family home of the Rubinacci family. It is a magnificent home, which Mariano converted into beautiful apartments. It is incredibly elegant and well maintained. Rosario is the wonderful caretaker -- solves all problems. I'll just add a few things from my wife's review. I loved living there not only because of its beauty as a residence, but also because of the vibrant neighborhood in which it is situated -- near the Mergellina port. It was also very convenient to public transportation -- being extremely close to two train stations, a taxi stand and a bus stop. But, walking was the most pleasurable mode of transportation -- passing by the many vibrant shops, green grocers, cafes and coffee houses. When I return to Napoli, I will surely seek residence at the remarkable Casa Rubinacci.
Jim Lewis. I would recommend Casa Rubinacci not only for a short stay -- but also for a long one. U.S. expats would be very comfortable living there during their assinbments overseas.

“An Experience of True Neapolitan Hospitality and Elegance”
Reviewed 19 March 2012 for a stay in August 2011

I've stayed at Casa Rubinacci many times and am continually impressed each time I return. The host, the admirable Mariano Rubinacci, goes out of his way to ensure each guest has everything at their disposal to experience true Neapolitan elegance. From exclusive dinner arrangements, daily excursions, or my favorite pastime - lounging in the sun on the roof terrace with a view of Mount Vesuvius in the distance and the Med surrounding the rest of the amazing panorama. As a "overly" experience traveler for both business and pleasure - I can truly say this is a gem that I hope is available for many years to come.
