This hotel is all about the beautiful historic building, and the amazing view. Our room was made up of two converted monks cells, and a half a cell for the bathroom. Compared to other Italian hotels we have stayed in, the room was really spacious. We had two windows, both overlooking the city, and our shower was built across the window, so as you showered, you could look at the city below. Breakfast is taken on the terrace, and we found it really good, you do need to remember to take sun glasses and preferably your sun hat if you want to sit and enjoy the view. Pool was small but attractively set on the roof terrace. Others have complained about the distance from the restaurants in town, but we just walked down the stairs opposite the hotel, and kept going down until we got to the main street (about 10 mins walk), the walk back up was OK, and definitely helped burn off some calories! The only thing missing from the hotel was a bar in the evening, and we were surprised that you couldn't get a drink after 5 pm, particularly as sitting on the roof terrace in the evening was lovely.
