This hotel has been criticized in several reviews for its location in a dirty, unsafe location near the railway station. This is true, but hardly the fault of the hotel. The hotel itself is quite pleasant, with a very friendly, helpful staff. The hotel is also surprisingly quiet.

The best feature of the hotel is the top-floor breakfast room, which is airy and nicely decorated. The hotel fulfills its on-line promise of a good cold breakfast buffet, with breads, meats, cheeses, cereal, and yogurt.

My main complaint is that the hotel web page claims that the restaurant also serves dinner, but in fact, it did not when I was there. As a single traveler, I expected to use the restaurant for dinner, rather than wander the unsafe neighborhood after dark. However, the friendly receptionist recommended a restaurant directly across the plaza, which turned out to serve the best meal I had in Italy.

Additional note: The internet terminal is 5 euros an hour, but when you ask to pay for a second hour, they'll probably let you have it for free.

This hotel was great - it was a haven to come back to after spending a day in the insanity of Naples! It was clean, the staff were friendly, the breakfast was fine. Although the area is not the greatest looking, we felt perfectly safe walking around even late at night. Transport links are great, the old quarter with its atmospheric alleys and lines of washing as well as hundreds of churches is a stone's throw away.

The pizzeria directly across the square is lovely, and great for watching the interesting Neapolitan driving habits!

After reading some of the last reviews I was chocked, is that the same hotel I've stayed in?

What can a hotel do for it's surrounding's? Yes the hotel is placed in Naples, it's close to the railway and has the public transport with buses and trams just 30m from the door.
But they're not responsible for the trash in the streets and the vendors in the streets nearby trying to sell you everything the Far East is producing at the moment.

The staff is friendly and help you with mostly everything you want.
Maybe I do not expect to much in this price class from a Hotel placed in a city of it's size like Naples.

The breakfast is typically for southern Europe, but has even cereals, yogurt, fresh fruits and fresh bread with ham and cheese.
Not more, but much more than I expected.

Good tourist restaurants are not nearby, but why don't try what the locals eat? There are a couple of Italian family restaurants (simple style) at Via Casanova, Via Cesare Rosaroll and Piazza Enrico de Nicola.
If you look for a better place you can try a longer walk to Ristorante "Giardino di Napoli" at Via P. Colletta 25/27, with lovely Antipasti and Pastas. It's next door to the Pizzeria Condurro, another place from the locals.

The hotel has now free WiFi access, unfortunately not in all rooms, just check that with the front desk before and they will help you.

Overall I can not complain about the hotel, even if you get to get useed to the neighbourhood.

Hotel is friendly, clean and save that helps.

The Best Western Hotel Plaza is the only clean spot in the entire city of Naples which is in itself an outdoor spetic tank.
The rooms are clean and the staff is helpful. Don't expect more because that's it!
Breakfast is the usual pastry, weak coffee, sour orangejuice and some glop the Europeans adore. A cross between yogurt and sour cream.
Beyond the stoop of the Best Western it's a sea of litter, piled up garbage, gloom, despair and graffiti.
The filthy train station is about 6 blocks of slums away with the poorest citizens north of the Congo.

You'll feel safe in the Best Western Hotel Plaza but you'll never forget Naples, and that's a fact.

Do not expect to get what you booked and paid for at this hotel. We booked a superior room with a king size and single bed room through Best Western with their internet special and paid in full without refund. The first room we were shown was very small with a double and a camp bed squeezed in, we asked for what we ordered they kept us in our room for an hour till I complained again, they then showed us 3 other rooms till we got a proper single bed but again the room had a double bed and was small. I asked to speak to the manager who was not in but I spoke to him on the phone he said he would show me other rooms. His staff carefully showed me rooms on the 2nd and 4th floor which were exactly the same no superior room or king size bed. I said I would complain to Best Western which I did. They said it was not their problem as all their hotels are independantly run, but it is on the Best Western website. As the website says the hotel has King and Queen size beds so who is lying. This hotel also does not have a restaurant as advertised. We also had to wait 24hrs for Tea and coffee which was never replaced. We also had to ask for more toilet rolls and finally only one call girl operating outside we had 3 but this is Italy. Do not trust this hotel or Best Western
