Best Western Hotel Plaza

The hotel is not bad, breakfast is good, the beds are comfy, there is use of wi-fi/ computers free of charge.
But: if you are traveling as a couple and enjoying romantic, rustic Italy, you'll experience quite a shock arriving in the afternoon in this area of Naples. A lot of dirt on the streets, dodgy looking people and now and again a crazy woman offering herself for money.
I would only recommend this hotel if you need a cheap place to stay for one or two nights, preferably traveling as a solo traveller or with a few male friends. It's simply not a place to take your girlfriend/ wife.

Selected this hotel because it is situated near the railway station. Stayed for three nights in order to visit Vesuvius/Herculaneum and Pompeii by train before moving on to stay in Amalfi for six nights. Returned for one night before catching the bus to the airport and flying home - excellent location for these activities.

Room was clean, but small and dark, facing the courtyard. Good breakfast on 5th floor terrace. Reception staff were very busy running the bar in addtion to front of house duties - happy to help though with internet acess and drinks etc.

Would not recommend venturing far on foot from the hotel at night - we ate great pizza at Principe Umberto which was just across from the hotel.

When we drove up in a taxie we could hardly see the Hotel for all the garbage on the streets. Along with a large group of men a and some prositutes that made Watts in LA California look like somewhere I would rather be.
The Hotel staff did the best they could . I would not recommed this Hotel unless you like fear as high.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 days and i will hightly recommend it since is very near from the terminal, the service very good, the breakfast terrace is really beautiful, nice environment, easy to move to the important places, shopping areas and restaurants just walking. What i didnt like was my room, was too small, but very clean and the attention in the reception very good, they take the time to recommend the places to see and eat, good stay.

I had to stay one day in the hotel because the exhaustion of the walking, and just enjoy having my burble and warm bath, reading and going out just two blocks away for dinner

This Hotel was of a high standard for the price (50Euro per room inc breakfast), with very helpful staff at the desk and for breakfast. Rooms were small but adequate with TV and free WiFi, and free coffee/tea on request.

The area is seedy as described elsewhere but never felt threatening, and a lot of Naples does seem to be like this. I wasn't too keen on the makeshift market that the local migrants tried to hold each day after emptying all the bins in the area into one big pile outside the hotel to look for items to "recycle". It was cleaned up every night however, and the carabinieri did their best to stop it happening on the last day.

We stayed 2 nights in a triple room. Room was well maintained with good soundproofing and rather compact, bathrooms in good condition. Breakfast was in a nice restaurant upstairs, staff were helpful. The only negative of this hotel was the location - in quite a seedy location with ladies of the night frequenting outside. The city is not the cleanest itself and outside the hotel seems to be a dumping ground for rubbish even though it gets collected every night. If you can overlook this aspect, the hotel is worth staying at.

This is a great hotel for exploring Naples. The rooms are not very big but are clean and excellently insulated and you do not hear any noise either from other rooms or from outside. The breakfast buffet is very good and staff are helpful. The hotel restaurant is rarely open but there is a nice pizzeria just across the square. The location is convenient for exploring the city or getting out of town as it is only 5 minutes away from the main station. The entire city, however, is extremely dirty and rubbish heaps are to be found everywhere (even in front of 4* hotels). The area around the station is rather seedy but we were never molested or felt particularly unsafe. Travellers in Napels generally should be vigilant (particularly on public transport) as it is not a very safe city. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value form money and if we were to go back to Naples we would use it again.
