At first it is not easy to find this hotel so we were glad to have taken advantage of the 35 euro airport transfer where you are met at arrivals by a charming English speaking driver. The hotel booked us a taxi for the return that cost only 20 euros - lower than the official rate. All the staff are charming and the front desk team speak excellent English and are very helpful with advice o what to do and where to eat. The in-room wifi is very good but the wifi in the public areas is not good but this is not a problem. Breakfast was excellent, the public sitting area is comfortable as are the rooms. The only minor problem was with the shower door in our bathroom which allowed water through an onto the bathroom floor. It would have been useful to have another shelf for toiletries. The location is within easy walk of a funicular, the Toledo metro station, good restaurants and the San Carlo opera house. We strongly recommend it.

This lovely small hotel is located in the centre of Naples, in Via Chiaia. It is a bit far from the bus and train station (25-30 minutes walking) but there is another bus station near the harbor ('SITA bus' is the name of the company), which is only 10 minutes away.
We stayed here for only one night, but the staff was very kind and the rooms were lovely, although a bit small. Very clean hotel, located at the first floor of a house.
The hotel is five minutes away from San Carlo's theatre, Castelnuovo, and the Royal Palace.

We had a lovely time at this little hotel, it's set back from the street (because of entering through a court yard) and one flight up. The receptionist ( Rosy) came to meet us and was gracious and helpful throughout. The hotel is right in the heart of Naples, easy walk to the museums and the ferry to Sorrento. The rooms are simple, clean and a good value.

If you like to be in the centre of the city, this is the place. Sourrounded by excellent restaurants, close to the heart of the city. Friendly staff, nice rooms. If you like business style, this is not the place, but -------. To be recommended!

Spent one week in the hotel . Be sure to get a superior room with a balcony overlooking the street/pedestrian mall, 10-20 EURO additional per day and worth it. Very clean and comfortable, welcoming staff, nice continental breakfast with fresh-squeezed orange juice and convenient to taxi stand, shopping, buses, ferries, delis and pizzerias. Brandi Pizzeria is just around the corner; they made the very first pizza for the Queen way back when.

Apart from one noisy night, we appreciated the location, in the old part of Naples. The staff we had to deal with were generally friendly and pleasant and the reception area and 'lounge' were full of local style. The local pastries provided each evening was a lovely touch. We also appreciated the close proximity of some excellent restaurants, after very full days of exploring Naples and its surrounds. If you can ignore the dirt of the city and survive the traffic, there is so much beauty in the art, culture and history of Naples.

The first room we were offered had to be refused - it was dark, windowless and opened onto a central, covered courtyard through a door which was very obviously not secure. We notice that room is not featured in the photo gallery and neither is there any detail shown of the room we finally occupied! The bed frame was held together with visible plastic "ties" and the marble on the "dressing table" was broken right through its depth. Knowing this, the management had obviously removed the knobs from the drawers below it, so they were unusable. In the bathroom, there was a very unsightly crack through the tiles, from floor to ceiling. None of these things actually spoiled our stay, however there is a fine line between authentic charm and blatant neglect! The breakfast was adequate, but once again, as in most places in Italy, there was little or no fruit provided unless you were first in the breakfast room. Our room was cleaned, as one would expect, but there was visible dust on areas of the breakfast room which stayed there throughout our 7 night stay. This hotel has a reputation for having once been a brothel and it is quite novel to see the rooms named after the ladies who used them and the price list for their favours displayed in the corridor; however, it is not very pleasant to have an organised tour standing outside your door, laughing and talking loudly during siesta hours. These people were, very obviously, not guests in the hotel. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable and one had the feeling that this hotel is surviving on past reputation and really needs some renovation.

We spent 3 nights at Chiaja Hotel in January 2014 and were very pleased with the staff and the location. The hotel is on a pedestrian way in the midst of the Historic District with great east of access to all key sites and restaurants. The building has the character of an old home with the warmth of a bed and breakfast. we asked for a room with light and got a great corner room with two windows. Depending on your personal requirements you may ask about an inner courtyard for quiet or the street for light and the liveliness of the streets. Breakfast is limited, but not an issue as it is down street from many wonderful cafes for the usual breakfast of Cafe and Coroneto. Every staff member we dealt with were wonderful, informed and extremely helpful. highly recommend for a great value in the historic center.

Room Tip: Corner room is lighter (but only a few) and would be noisier from street noise. Depends on time of...
