What we liked:
+ very good breakfast with all you need for good start
+ nice and caring staff always willing to help
+ located next to Piazza Dante which is the starting point for a walk to downtown

What we did not like:
- bathroom was really not clean. traces of dirt where you don't want to see them.
- wifi was not working. we got a cable but that does not support iphone.
- lots of street noise on saturday night as many student clubs are around with people lurking

Room Tip: To the court, not to the street

The hotel is tucked in a very quiet courtyard in the heart of the old city of Naples: the location itself makes it worth a visit as you wouldn't expect such a charming small garden in such place. There is also a (very) small swimming pool if you wish to spend one or two hours relaxing after sightseeing in Naples (always a truly beautiful city).
The lobby is nice and breakfast is quite good, however the rooms could be improved as they feel a bit outdated and, though being large, you would expect a room product in line with the level of the rest of the hotel, which is quite high and full of personality.

I stayed here recently and would probably stay here again. We booked a Junior Suite mainly because of the pictures I saw online with the amazing looking Jaccuzzi tub and the location. Once we arrived, we were informed that the Jaccuzzi was broken which was the main reason I spent the extra money for that room. There were also long black hairs in the tub indicating that it hadnt been cleaned (or if it had, it was done poorly). The location of the hotel was great, a bit difficult to get to if you are arrivning by car since it is in the middle of a busy area full of one-way streets and some streets for pedestrians only. The hotel is very cozy inside and the breakfast was one of the best we had in Naples. If I return, I would get the standard, less expensive room and then maybe it would be worth it!

This hotel is in its own courtyard (accessed via a security gate), which itself is in an interesting little cul de sac, with a barrier and security person, and a locked gate at night. It felt very secure, especially in Naples, and was very quiet.

Location not very far from the Archaeology Museum. In the nearby streets, there are dozens and dozens of bookshops!

Really a boutique hotel, with a modern touch. Some unusual art on the walls! Our accommodation was a suite, with the bedroom/bathroom accessed by a spiral staircase, very characterful; downstairs seating area, desk and a small patio outside.

Breakfast was typical continental, even with eggs and streaky bacon, although they were not kept very hot.

Room Tip: Our suite was great accommodation, looking over the hotel's own courtyard

We had a good stay here. It is quiet and it is in the heart of Naples. It is easy to walk everywhere and then come back to the hotel and relax outdoors on their terrace. The personnel were great. They were helpful and anxious to make our stay comfortable. We had no problems whatsoever with our breakfast.

While the Costantinopoli is set a block off the street inside a courtyard it is very easy to find with the street address. There is a small sign indicating where to turn however it can be easily obstructed by the trees around it.

If the main gate is closed there is a buzzer you need to use (I believe there are two different sets, but the one for the Costantinopoli is labeled) to get into the main part. Once within the main part you are not home-free; the door to the hotel is on the far left hand side of the courtyard and you'll need to use another buzzer to get inside.

There is little street noise within the hotel area and there are several lounging areas in addition to a pool (not heated).

Check-in went smooth and our room was large. It was clean, with the exception of the mold/mildew in the bathroom (from the large leaks described later). Tall ceilings and wood floors gave it a really cozy feel.

The bathroom is another story. As experienced by others we had a shower with a glass door that had no seal on the bottom (giving a large gap). This led to water leaking all the way outside the bathroom to the hallway closet creating a big safety hazard (tiled floors and wood floors with giant puddles are slippery). We eventually started shoving a spare towel in between the glass door and tub which helped the problem but didn't completely solve it. This is obviously an ongoing issue because there is mold/mildew stains everywhere the water was pooling.

Breakfast was included with our room rate and it was sub-par. It consisted of cold scrambled eggs, overly salted bacon in addition to your typical toast/yogurt/vegetables/cold cuts. There were pastries and if you were lucky enough to get some they were fresh and delicious, definitely the highlight.

The breakfast buffet is held in a rather small room with a single person doing all the work (clearing tables, cooking food, coffee, etc) which led to incredibly poor service. Often tables would go uncleared for the next guests and if it is too cool/wet for the outdoor seating you end up having to wait to eat. Of course, when it is this busy you also end up waiting if you just want some coffee (as it is not self-serve, they make it for you). Sometimes the wait staff in the buffet would disappear and you'd end up with no service, nowhere to sit or completely empty food items. And if you are extremely unlucky, all of the above. I would highly recommend visiting the buffet early in the morning in an attempt to avoid all these problems related to service.

The hotel is near the museum however if you are planning to go I would recommend you find out the closing time of their various exhibits. When we were there the museum was open fairly late (6pm or 7pm) but various areas in the museum closed earlier (such as at 2pm). There is a board inside the entry way that lists the times of the various sections.

We would routinely walk to the train station from here without problem. I think some may be uncomfortable late at night (after dark) with the walk though because there are quite a few people who just stand around in dark alleys and such.

Directly behind the hotel is an area with several bars and such that may be worthwhile places to go for a drink. It is a common hang-out spot for young adults and such so there is a little bit of life around that part.

Overall I think the Costantinopoli is just average: the nestled location of the hotel is great for peace and quiet making it a good place to sleep but the poor service just screams of a hotel that is trying to cut corners to make a buck. Who knows what other corners get cut?

I'm not really sure I would stay here again. It is in the middle of Naples, right down the street from the Museo Archeologico but, it's back behind some other buildings & difficult to find. You must buzz your way in through two gates to get to the front door. To get to the central station, you either walk, take a taxi, or suffer an ugly, sweaty walk underground to subway line 2, & then a sauna ride on the ancient train.
The website boasts shower/tub combinations in the junior suites & complimentary bottled water in the room. We were shown to a shabby looking room with only a shower which they tried to pass off as a 'quiet room'. We were then given a room with a tub (it was actually a giant hot tub with a shower head in the ceiling) and it was great; the whole family could fit in. The down side is that everything is getting a little old & poorly maintained at this hotel. There were tiles missing from the drain area of the tub & the toilet had a leak at the back. There was no smell so it must have been a water line leak. No bottled water. Not a big deal but don't make up stories on your website, especially in southern Europe where gilding the lilly is a little too common. There was a wall-mounted air conditioner in the room but it was undersized & couldn't keep up so they programmed it to stop at 16 celsius. The room stayed stuffy and not quite cool enough in mid-October. I don't want to be here in the summer.
Breakfast is nice. They do try to be customer service oriented but it comes across as forced to me. Maybe I've been in Italy too long. The hotel does have a comfortable feel and a certain kind of person would refer to it's lack of maintenace as 'charm' but I don't use that would in such a setting at $200+ a night.
If you do stay here, make sure you go explore the surrounding neighborhood, it's the best part of your stay. Particularly Via Tribunali in the afternoon/evening.
