“Historical Naples”

There are many castles at the sea coast and on hills. For those on the hill there is not any sign road to the narrow streets that lead to the entrance to the castle and its park. For individual visit it is a nightmare. So, we asked for the direction many of the kind people of Naples. Eleveator is a good solution to visit castles and towers on the hill Vomero.

“Crowded but fun, but watch out for the motor scooters”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 December 2013

Naples left us with mixed feelings. There is a lot of work going on everywhere, but grab a taxi (not from just outside the cruise terminal, who wanted 20 Euros to take us to the city centre), but from the rank near the port entrance, 10 Euros fixed price. Ask for the underground Naples attraction and you will be dropped off in the narrow but bustling 'old' Naples centre. I don't recommend the underground Naples attraction if you suffer from claustrophobia. However, within a few metres are famous pizza houses, said to be the best in the world, but nearly all expect you to eat in the street while standing,. and the queues are long, so they must be good. Although the streets are very narrow, you still be dodging motor scooters and the occasional car, and there really isn't room for you and them. there is a strong police presence, and you feel very safe and secure. There are small shops selling everything you can imagine. On the day we visited (30th November) there was a street market, literally thousands of people crammed into very narrow lanes, and everyone seemed to be buying nativity scenes. Some were good, some were ok, and some were really 'tacky'. Although there were more people than a Hong King market, there was no pushing or shoving, but you just had to go with the flow.
