Mario from Hotel Correra 241 emailed with concerns after not hearing from Expedia or us about the change in hotels. Expedia had failed to let us know that we would not be able to stay at Hotel Rex during our trip to Naples. Mario, called Expedia and got our email, he then let us know that due to some problems at Hotel Rex, they had saved rooms for us at the Correra. Expedia did not tell us, and kept saying we still had reservations at the Hotel Rex.

The rooms were clean and quiet, the breakfast was good and the service very good. There is a very nice terrace for eating breakfast or just relaxing. The staff was very helpful. We would certainly stay here again; but we would book it directly, not thru Expedia.

We stayed here for 4 nights and used the hotel as a base from which to see Naples and the surrounding area. It was a relatively budget trip so I was happy with this hotel and the price we paid for it.

Staff were always friendly and helpful and there was always someone to assist. The hotel generally has a welcoming feel to it - you're not made to feel like a tourist cash machine. Breakfast was basic but included in the price. The free wifi was of good quality - it didn't always work in our room but was always accessible from the outdoor terrace, but was a cool place to just sit and relax. The area isn't the nicest part of Naples, down one of the dark streets in the historic centre, but it didn't feel dangerous and I found the location useful for the archeaological museum, the metro and all the many sites around the via dei Tribunali and along Spaccanapoli.

The rooms themselves were pretty basic and small, including quite a small bathroom. If you want comfort it's not for you, but if it's just a base and a place to sleep it will be fine. Rooms were clean, always hot water, there's a safe in the room and actually the room was remarkably quiet for central Naples. There's air conditioning, which is useful as the rooms can be a little stuffy.

I would recommend this hotel to people staying for an odd night or doing sightseeing, but if you want something more relaxing you will probably want to upgrade to somewhere else.

We echo the sentiments in the review by Callumity Traveller!
We stayed at the hotel from the 15-18th April and can confirm that ham & cheese is now on the breakfast menu! I even managed, after 'instruction' to use the coffee machine at breakfast & it was worth the effort. The resultant coffee was delicious!!!!
We enjoyed the quirkiness of the hotel and would consider staying again as it was so convenient for the old town, metro and museum.
Without exception, the staff were friendly and helpful.

Naples is a chaotic, crazy city. You love it or hate it! This hotel was an oasis of calm but conveniently located just off Piazza Dante and just a couple of minutes walk from the archaeological museum.

Great value, spacious family room with very cool mezzanine level for kids' beds, decent Italian breakfast, hot drinks available all day in lobby area and really helpful staff. Room was clean and although fittings were not luxurious, everything worked well. The main lobby has access to an old aqueduct and well and is partly built into tufo rock. Kids thought this especially interesting. Hotel also has access to reliable taxis with set price options - a godsend in Naples!

This is a good choice if you don't want to spend to much. We got a very spacious room with a private terrasse (without a view or any furniture).

I loved the location. It's in the historical centre of Naples. There's a chaotic city life in the streets around the hotel and the streets are far from clean (like so many other places in Naples). This might bother some people, but I loved to stay in this exotic neighborhood. There are nice bars and restaurants close to the hotel, and I recommend you to go to the nice Piazza Bellini for drinks in the evening.

We slept well in this hotel, the beds are comfortable and there wasn't much noise during the night.

The room was not perfectly clean. There was dust in the corners and on some shelves. The doors to the shower should have been changed, they were very dirty (probably because they're not easy to clean).

The breakfast was good, but rather unhealthy, there was no cheese, ham or eggs for instance. On the other side, their coffee was fantastic!

There was free wifi in the hotel and the connection was reliable.

Dear Sydensvein,
first of all really thank You for reviewing our hotel. You've perfectly understood our mission and I've really appreciated You share this experience through tripadvisor! The hotel Correra 241 is in the vibrant, caothic core of the town and offers an authencic view of Naples. All of this providing a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere for our guests.

I'm very surprised about the leak of cleaniness in the room because acutally is one of the points we most focus on to give a real good stay here to our guests. You're right, showers are not so easy to clean and in fact we are managing some changes on the doors and on the covers for the rooms those have the bathtub. The "dust" is actually a remain of the tufo that arrives in some rooms but we usually take a lot of care of it thats why I give You my very sincere apologizes.

For the breakfast I must say that is ironhic that we just start serving ham and cheese the week after Your check out, so now is available at the buffet, completing our breakfast offer.

What can I say more? We are waiting for Your next stay in Naples, to show You the new showers, our attention to details and the brand new salad breakfast goods!

Thank You very much, all the best!

Mario Petraroli

Four-night stay during half-term in busy, chaotic Naples. Well located for Old Town and metro stops and Archaeological Museum. Very friendly staff always ready to assist. Rooms very spacious - quiet in the courtyard area, more noisier facing the road. Breakast good for sweet tooths - plenty of yoghurt, jams, rolls, cereals, croissants, cakes and fruit - some boiled eggs / cut meats, cheese would have added variety. Great value stay - would recommend.

The Hotel Carrera 241 are a no frills perfect option for exploring the city of Naples and its surrounding areas. The location is perfect just off the main street which made it a 5 minute walk to the main pizzeria restaurants in town and close to the metro.

I found the hotel staff to be exceptionally friendly and one guy even spent 40 minutes fixing our computer for us!!

The breakfast is a simple buffet option but is all you need to start off the day.

The rooms had a university dorm feel to them which was funky but also a little sterile?

Overall a great option at a very reasonable price.
