“Home from home”
Reviewed 8 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We stayed in the apartment for 3 nights whilst travelling trip in Italy. Naples was our first destination and the property owner picked us up from the airport and gave us a short tour of the city pointing out the metro stations which was very useful. There was also a lot of information in the apartment including maps, general information and activity suggestions which was helpful.
The apartment was very clean and everything was in good working order. The kitchen was well equipped, and clean towels were provided. We found the service very good and appreciated a few treats such as some baked goods and fruit juice that were waiting for us when we arrived. The property owner was very helpful and it felt like nothing was too much trouble if we'd needed any help with anything during our stay.
We enjoyed day trips to Sorrento, Capri and Pompei during our stay.

“Great place to stay in Naples”
Reviewed 13 April 2015 for a stay in March 2015

Really nice appartment, clean & well equipped. Good selection of shops, market all nearby.
Close to Metro but is also only half hour walk to main railway station.
Vincenzo the owner was very helpful, meeting us at the Metro, he gave us a guided tour of the area with plenty of suggestions where to eat & what to see.

“GREAT BASE IN NAPLES”
Reviewed 1 April 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We stayed here for five nights and the appartment met all our needs. There is a lounge/kitchen together with a bathroom on the first floor and two double bedrooms on the second floor. The appartment is very well equipped and the equipment was new. There were plenty of cooking utensils so self-catering was easy. The shower was a little small but there was a good supply of hot water. We didn't use the air conditioning but did put the heaters on in the early morning and they worked fine. There isn't much natural light but good artificial lighting. WiFi worked well. We occasionally heard the neighbours but it was generally quiet.

The appartment is in the lively and characterful Sanita district - what we were expecting Naples to be like (complete with scooters whizzing up and down the streets), though it was quiet at night. It's a short walk from Cavour Metro and from the National Archeological Museum and only slightly longer to the Centro Storico. We also did the walk uphill to Capodimonte which tested our fitness ! There's a cafe next door to the appartment building; a good local pizza restaurant at the bottom of the street (Pizzeria Oliva) and the excellent Paticceria Poppea is on the way to the Metro. Be aware you do have to climb some stairs to get to the appartment.

Vincenzo met us at Cavour and took us to the appartment. He was very helpful and informative and there is an excellent set of written material about Naples and Campania in the appartment itself. He came to collect the key exactly when he said he would and there were no problems about the return of our deposit. He also responded quickly to our booking enquiries.

At the price you obviously wouldn't expect a luxury appartment and the Sanita is not the Vomero or Chiaia. But it provides a great base for exploring Naples and was really good value. We would certainly rent it again.

“Ideal in Every Way”
Reviewed 29 March 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We spent nine nights at Vincenzo’s delightful apartment in the Sanita section of Napoli. It was more than we could have hoped for in every respect. The apartment was updated and spotless. There was always plenty of hot water; the amenities in the apartment were great. The decor was modern and fun. For those who watch TV, there is a huge flat-screen unit in the apartment. The apartment exceeds the impression given by the airbnb site photographs. Here are the highlights of our stay: 1. Vincenzo is a wonderful host. He met us at the subway station with our luggage and drove us to his apartment where he had fresh “baba” (a local pastry) waiting for us. Vincenzo has compiled the most extensive three-ring binder of information for travelers that we have ever experienced in Europe or the United States. It included everything from subway maps to information on Pompeii, Sorrento, excursions, rentals, train schedules, restaurants, and so on. We wish that more airbnb hosts would provide such complete traveler information. Furthermore, Vincenzo was available for any of our needs during our stay. He went out of his way to let us know when admission to Napoli museums was free, where to shop for groceries, eat pizza and purchase pastries. 2. The neighborhood is wonderful and completely safe. We felt secure at all times. Unlike the feeling in touristy hotels on polished streets, designed to lure tourists, this was a real Napoli neighborhood with real people going about their everyday lives. It is a bustling and lively neighborhood with lots of energy, but very quiet at night. Upon returning to the apartment after long days walking or visiting sites both in and outside of Napoli, we felt as if we were coming home. 3. Because we were in Napoli for nine nights, we had the opportunity to eat a lot of pizza and to taste a variety of pastries. Without a doubt, the best pizzeria we found (In Napoli and even in all of Italy) is less than a five minute walk from the apartment - Pizzeria Oliva - da Concettina ai Tre Santi. And the best pastry shop was across the street from Pizzeria Oliva: Pasticceria Poppella. Stay clear of the tourist dens and savor the taste of the real Napoli! It costs less and tastes better! 4. We choose to walk everywhere, but the apartment is only a ten minute walk to the subway and a major bus stop. It is only a few blocks from the National Archeological Museum, a must see. And as an unpredictable bonus, there is a large daily market just around the corner. I am sure we could not have found a more perfect location. 5. Napoli has a bit of a bad boy reputation of being rough around the edges. Our experience, by contrast, was entirely positive and much of the credit goes to Vincenzo’s comfortable and well-appointed apartment that we called home and to the friendliness of the area in which...

“very helpful owner”
Reviewed 6 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Very good aparment. Everything promised was there and in working order. Good value for price. Most of all, the owner was extremely helpful. We knew we were gonna arrive early and that the cleaning at that time wouldn't be ready. So the owner met us at the metro station and kept our suitcase in his car until we could check in. Also when we cgecked out he gave us a ride to the metro. Service above and beyond the necessary. So we had a great stay.

“Perfect place for an authentic Naples experience”
Reviewed 22 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Vincenzo's apartment is well situated for visiting the numerous attractions that Naples has to offer. It is within easy reach of the Metro and main railway station.
Queries were answered quickly and the family were kind enough to meet us at the Metro entrance to take us to the apartment which has everything you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable
Look beyond the inevitable litter and graffiti and you find yourself in a neighbourhood full of friendly people. A local market is at the end of the street, also a very good Pizza restaurant!
As with most buildings in the area the apartment at first seems a little dark but the lighting more than makes up for this.
Well produced folders of suggestions for places to visit are provided and the internet access works well. Instructions for working all the equipment in the appartment was readily available.
The family put essentials into the fridge and left a gift of 'Baba' cake which we considered a thoughtful gesture.
If you want the authentic experience of living in a Naples suburb you will love this place. If you prefer hotel luxury it is not for you.
