This was our first stop in Italy. The hotel is within walking distance of the train station so it's very convenient as a home base for travels to Pompeii and Vesuvius. That said, plaza Garibaldi is one of the worse areas of the city. It's dirty, filled with people and doesn't feel completely safe at night. The hotel is an oasis in this chaos. Greatly redone, the corridors, rooms and rooftop restaurant are very nice, and the view from the top is amazing. The bathroom was big and had a large tub perfect for two. Breakfast was great on the rooftop patio, with a wide selection of hot and cold options and the best cherry tomatoes I've ever tasted. If you're looking for a good hotel at a good price and you don't mind the area this is your option. If you're spending more time in Napoli I would recommend one of the hotels close to the castello de l'Ovo and the waterfront.
