We had no problems finding the hotel thanks to Joseph, our cab driver from the airport (sadly we had to reject his offer of a €150 ride to Sorrento the next morning in favour of the €3 train journey!), and it is really hidden away, but once inside all is good. No worries with the security of the place since it is only entered by entryphone, and anyone getting into the courtyard would not be able to go any further since the internal doors wouldn't open anyway. No real problem with any noise as the area is quite quiet, but perfect for the Archaeological Museum and for walking around the local area, which is different to say the least! Watch out for the cars as the drivers are mental (and that is being nice!) and each and every one of them has a dent of varying size on it. Room was very comfortable, bed was the best of a week-long Italian trip and the breakfast was excellent as well. Friendly staff and good service. Not a lot which wouldn't come as a recommendation.

We stayed at Hotel Piazza Bellini for one night in October 2009. We weren't sure what to expect from the large, nondescript door that serves as the main entrance but we were pleasantly surprised by what we found. Our room was clean, modern, with high-ceilings and a very up-to-date bathroom. There was a wide variety of choices at breakfast, and a free computer available for checking your email. The staff we encountered spoke english and were really great. There was a transit/metro strike on the day of our departure. I was reluctant to take a taxi for fear of being over-charged but the staff arranged for a taxi to take us to the train station for a very reasonable fixed rate (10.50 euros). The hotel is located just a short walk to the Archeological Museum.

We just stayed at Palazzo Bellini for two nights in the mid of February. Took the cab directly from the airport (our flight had a heavy delay) - after the driver dropped us in front of this "Palazzo" it took us a short time to find the door bell (just marked with "hotel"). We then entered the building and were surprise as how HUGE this whole building was. The hotel is located on the first floor. Although we arrived at around 2am, the staff at the reception was extremely welcoming, handed over the keys and gave some short instruction regarding breakfast etc. We then entered the room and were pleasantly surprised by the HUGE size of the room and the very nice bathroom. Room was equipped with a flat-screen TV, fridge and safe. Breakfast was held at the nice and stylish breakfast room (by the way, there is a PC running with free internet-access) reasonable too.

The hotel itself is directly located in the historical district, the duomo just a few minutes walk away. Same applies to some excellent pizzerias (enjoy some pizza at "Di Matteo", the place where Bill Clinton enjoyed a slice in 1996).

We will definitely stay at this hotel again during our next visit to Naples (which will be soon...hopefully!!!).

THUMBS UP :-)

First time TA has let me down, based on the reviews I thought Piazza Bellini was the right choice; unfortunately it wasn't.

The entrance of the hotel is a bit difficult to find, located on a large street you have to ring a bell in order to gain entrance to a bit of a innercourt from where you can enter the building where to hotel is located. During my stay the door to the innercourt was opened which made it easy for anyone to enter.

Check-in was fine , no comments. Unfortunately my room was in an other building opposite of the mainbuilding. This gave me a very unsafe feeling due to the fact that this building could be entered by people from the street without being spot. The room itself was decrepit, old and with dirty bedcoverage. Only a very small plastic chair and an old lcdtv with only 4! channels available. During the night there were constantly people running in the hallway which gave me a very unpleasant feeling. I was very happy to check out the next morning!

This time TA fooled me!

This hotel is safe, on a nice square dotted with orange trees and bars and will soon be expanded to offer 3 times the number of rooms as well as a courtyard breakfast area and so on. The staff were extremely helpful and the hotel is fantastic value.
We had a huge clean room with very modern fittings, both in the room and the bathroom.
The hotel is ideally located for walking around the Spaccanapoli old town area and, aside from the bars on the square, there are plenty of interesting bars and restaurants in the vicinity, such as Superfly.
The hotel reception is currently on the 1st floor of a typical Neapolitain palazzo whose architecture is hidden behind an unassuming green wooden door facing the top end of the piazza.
If you need a cappuccino/esspresso shot then head down the street 50 yards to one of the excellent street cafes as there isn't currently one at the hotel but breakfast was a buffet style with yoghurts, fruit , bread and jams.
