“... A Different View of Naples, Italy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 March 2010

When in Naples, Italy, if you seek a hotel with a residential feel in an upscale neighborhood, a stay at Week-end a Napoli located in the Vomero Hill District may be “right” for you.
Upon our arrival to the hotel, housed in family owned Villa Maria, we were greeted by Paolo, owner, host and concierge-extraordinaire. As we lounged in the comfort of the drawing room, enjoying beverages, biscuits and easy conversation, our itinerary came together.
Over the next 36 hours, as we walked the District, we acquired a sense of Neopolitan city life without the feeling of being conspicuously like tourists. Week-end a Napoli was an excellent home-base; a tranquil place with the comforts of a home and the amenities of a brand hotel.
We enjoy traveling in Italy. This was not our first visit to Naples, but it was our best.

We found Week-end A Napoli (WAN) online and we instantly fell in love with our hosts, Paolo and Patrizia, and the location (easily within walking distance of all public transportation, shops, restaurants, cafes, pizzarias, pubs, etc, but far enough away from the chaos of the busy piazzas). They have intimate knowledge of the Naples area, provide maps, coordinate restaurant reservations, and make suggestions when we ran out of our own ideas. They can even procure transportation tickets for you (important especially on Sundays when the ticket booths are closed)! They are there to assist when you need it, but will give you your space to explore the city on your own if you want to. While you do not need a car in the city, if you do have one, they can coordinate parking for you at a secure garage nearby with polite and respectful valet. They are only about 5 mins off the Tangenzale. The Vomero market is literally right around the corner and down 1 block (fresh fruits, vegetables, fish and meats on the left, neat clothes, shoes, and other merchandise on the right!). Breakfast is serene, with big windows overlooking the street and includes breads, cakes (homemade! Ask for a cooking lesson), yogurt, fruit, juice, and teas or cappucchino. We are staying in a nicely decorated room but they do not have laundry facilities. However, for a fee, they will take your laundry and have it done for you. The room is cozy, as space is an issue in the city, but every nook and cranny is expertly put to good use. The room has Sky TV (English and other languages too) and free wireless internet. Our stay will be over 5 weeks long so we really KNOW this place. We love it and wish that we could choose WAN as our permanent home!

My husband and I were touring in Italy and took the advice of tripadvisor and once again, the reviews were excellent. Patrizia and Paolo make you feel like one of the family and yet do not intrude in your privacy. Our first day Paolo asked us what we were interested in seeing during our stay, he suggested that we purchase tickets that they have right there at WAN that covered the sites we wanted to see and public transportation for 3 days. It was a perfect suggestion. He also went into great detail and marked a map for us on what transportation to use to get to the sights.
They were more than willing to arrange dinners for us, transportation to the train station, etc.
Paolo was born and raised in Naples and his love of the city shines through.
The bed and breakfast is in a beautiful, safe part of Naples where dining places, shopping, and access to public transportation is just a short walk away.
We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to visit Naples.
Our breakfasts were very nice and they were willing to schedule them whenever we wanted.
If I ever go back to Naples, I will be staying at Weekend A Napoli!

We stayed at Week-end at Napoli for one night before heading to Capri and Paolo was an excellent host, giving us itinerary and restaurant suggestions that maximized our short time in Naples. We stayed in an "apartment room" next to the villa, which was clean, but basic. Paolo's service was outstanding. He arranged for a taxi with a fixed rate directly to the hotel. I mentioned I wanted to try the Napoli speciality "sfogliatella" and he arranged for a table and tasting at a nearby cafe...and even treated us! He was also very helpful with getting us to the ferry and giving advice on what to do in Capri. Some of the best service we've experienced. I look forward to booking a room in the villa next time and enjoying Naples.

We stayed one night at this B&B before flying out of the Naples airport and wish we had much more time to spend. We reserved their suite which is breathtakingly lovely... actually, the entire villa that houses the B&B is. The hosts are perfect, right there to help with your every need... and they showed us a 'hole in the wall' restaurant where we could get some authentic Naples cuisine at a reasonable price and the recommendation was extremely well made - definitely some of the best food we'd had. The bread alone was to die for. The B&B is quite far from the train station, definitely call them to get a taxi... do not get in the taxi line outside the station if you come in to Naples this way. Same note would apply to the airport although it is a bit closer. The B&B is very close (a block) from a lovely shopping area with nice bars in private gardens etc. Walking distance to the Metro... OH and breakfast... truly enjoyed the breakfast. The hosts made a point of providing separate tables for us so their guests could enjoy a bit of privacy while eating. The room they serve breakfast in has two levels and you look out a large window... the decor throughout is impeccable... lovely. The villa has been updated with all the latest electronics, satellite TV with audio tracks you can set in different languages, WiFi... the suite has the largest jacuzzi tub we'd seen... very cool! Two showers... a small kitchenette... living room and bedroom areas.

Poalo and Patrizia made our trip in Naples a great experience.
They organized everything from the train tickets to the choice of restaurants in the city and the delivery of our luggage in the boat for Ischia.
Nothing was a problem because they had a solution for everything.
The breakfast was a real pleasure with a great choice of homemade cakes.
I will go back there for sure.

We spent a wonderfull time at WAN. With friends and children, Paolo and Patrizia, took care of us like family members. Everything have been totally under their control and perfectly orchastrate. Transportation, visits, restaurants we were perfectly oriented as we were used to visit Napoli. The house is so charming ans cosy, rooms comfortable you feel immediately "at home", and of course because the presence of Patrizia and Paolo. This is a very uncommon experience and for sure to renew.
