“Nice and friendly - with huge terrace”
Reviewed 17 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

The flat ist located in the centre of Naples, it's a normal living area, very vivid. Everything is around the corner, supermarkets, cafes and a pizzeria, that also sells roasted chicken - very tasty.
The flat is very good and large - seems like a mueseum. The owner obviously loved designing the flat, it is very colorful, every room looks different. The kitchen is fully equipped Of course, it is not a five star hotel considering the tidiness, but it is perfect to spend a nice time with friends and experience Italian lifestyle.
Guiseppe was very friendly and took care of matters for us. Would always come again if I returned to Naples one day.

Our first impression of this whole process was very positive, but things went downhill as soon as we arrived in Naples. Giuseppe was very accommodating when we had to make changes to the date of arrival and was in constant communication to provide us with his cell number and very specific directions to a meeting place (Gambrinus in the main piazza - Plebiscito).

Things started to go downhill as soon as we got to the meeting place. Giuseppe was nowhere to be found and we received a text message telling us to go directly to the apartment. When we texted the address for confirmation, we did not get a response. We used google map to try and find the apartment and what should have been a 10 minute walk, took us about 45 mins. When we finally got to the apartment, two girls were waiting for us. We hiked up to the very top floor (about 6 flights of marble winding stairs - which was not advertised and difficult for my 75 year old mother and young children) and the apartment looked as it did in the pictures - until we started to touch the furniture and items in the apartment. Everything was so dirty that I shiver just thinking about it. The kitchen amenities, including the fridge, was absolutely filthy. There was a layer of dust on just about everything and the toilet rims were black. While my husband and I went out to buy water, my mother mopped the floors 3 times, but it was still so dirty. She eventually gave up and told the kids to just wear their shoes instead. After I got back, I mopped the floor twice, but still could not get rid of the layers of soot, especially in the kitchen. There were used ashtrays with cigarette ashes in the kitchen and bathrooms. The entire apartment reeked of cigarette smoke. In addition, there were only 2 threadbare bath towels provided for our clan of 6. The other were hand and face towels which made bathing quite difficult. The shower upstairs could not be used because the doors did not stay closed and water sprayed everywhere. When it was time for bed, we found an even bigger problem - no heating or blankets. There were 3 rooms in this apartment. The first bedroom had one decent comforter - not thick, but adequate with one extra layer of clothing. There was a sofa bed with no sheets or beddings, but we found two pillows in an armoire. An upstairs bed with a flat bed sheet and sheer bedspread. We found a thin flannel blanket in a chest upstairs (which the kids used on the sofa bed) and a thin (and questionable) comforter with holes in it. We left this comforter in the chest. Due to a lack of blankets, we went around the apartment to try and turn on the radiators. Nothing!!! None of them worked. Our entire family ended up sleeping in our winter coats and layers of clothing. It was at that moment that my husband and I decided that we needed to get out of this place. We went online and booked 2 rooms at the Holiday Inn. The next day, after our private tour with Viator, we went back to the apartment, packed all of our stuff and moved out . After we checked in at the Holiday Inn, we sent Giuseppe a text message to advise him that we've moved out - citing lack of heating as one reason. This time, Giuseppe texted back and said that there were instructions to turn on the radiators in the kitchen - but the girls did not tell us this information. I did not bother to respond as we've spent way too much on international roaming charges (for google map and texting) for me to go into details about the other reasons as to why we left. We paid for 3 nights and are not asking for a refund. We just want to get out of there as soon as possible.

As I said, Giuseppe seems to be a very nice person, but whoever he hired to clean the apartment did a very poor job - or did not do the job at all. If the apartment remains in this condition, it should not be rented out - especially to families with young children and seniors or anyone who wants to live in a clean place.
