We visited this restaurant because we had heard it is the birthplace of pizza. It was very crowded when we arrived and the owner or manager that was seating people was quite rude. He sat us in a table in the room across the street which was ok. The atmosphere was nice and there were two servers assigned to our section of the restaurant. We ordered the margarita pizza because that is what they are famous for. It was all right but definitely not the best pizza we have had. The service was awful throughout our entire visit. The waiters were rude and not attentive at all. It took almost an hour for our one pizza to come out. I asked for the bill when we were done because the servers were simply not visiting our table and they completely ignored me. I asked 3 more times, still nothing. Finally we just went up to the front where the owner/ manager was again very rude to us. The bathrooms were also disgusting g a smelled like urine. This was by far the worst dining experience we have had in the three weeks we have been in Italy. There are other pizzerias with attentive, friendly servers. I would not recommend this restaurant at all.
