“A great place.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2012

Having read the negative reviews, I can only think that they were staying somewhere else.
My daughter and I had booked two rooms, but having had a problem with bath (broken by guest) we were offered, and accepted, the family room. Couldn't have been better!
A huge king sized bed (daughter had that) two very spacious bunk beds (me on the bottom) made for a very good night's sleep. A nice little balcony to sit out on. Fully fitted kitchen. Dining table. Breakfast in bed. What more could you ask for?
Well for starters what you couldn't ask for is a better location. A couple of minutes to the ruins. A couple of minutes either way to two rail stations. A couple of minutes to the park in the town centre.
So Ok, the continental breakfast was a bit meagre, but it worked for both me and my daughter.
No problems with the Electricity.. But if there had been? Your in a small town in Italy for goodness sake! They always have problems with the electricity.
I most definitely WILL return to B&B Cave Canem. Loved it, and loved the town.

Booked ths B&B through Venere.com. Paid 75 Euro a night for a double room thinking we would have our own kitchen facilties as proudly mentioned on site (each room equipped!) Our room was merely a bed and bathroom with little room to move let alone any facilities to cook. Also no air conditioning in the room as advertised. Breakfast was woeful and not at all lke that pictured when we booked. Consisted of your choice of yoghurt with biscuits, brioche or rusks (turned out to be melba toasts) Ended up having to by more substantial breakfasts later. Despite misleading information and dissapointment at amenities, location was good for accessing excavations, and the room was clean enough. Will most likely opt to stay in another town and take the circumvesuviana to Pompei ruins next time

The owner was a very nice guy and the room was good for the money paid but it seemed that as soon as all 3 rooms were occupied the electricity problems began. After being told that all of Pompei had problems but being out in town and not noticing any, we were without power for the best part of a whole evening, which meant no air-con, no fridge, no hot water or ceiling fan.
