When visiting Pompeii you are most likely wanting to visit the famous ruins. Then the Hotel Forum is perfectly located for this, with the entrance to the historical site literally just over the road. The hotel has free parking very close by as well, simply get the hotel reception to stamp the parking ticket for a no costr exit to the car park.
The Hotel itself was a great delight with our room situated with a lovely view to Mt Vesuvius and overlooking the excavations. The room was very well appointed and staff were very helpful, even assisting to break a padlock on our suitcase necessitated by the loss of the padlock key. The included breakfast was exceptional and there are many fast food and restaurant quality eateries in short walking distance.
Overall we would happily recommend the Hotel Forum for your visit to Pompeii.

We stayed for two nights and found the staff very friendly and helpful. Perfect position just across the road from the entrance to the ruins. Easy parking 50 metres from the hotel which was included in our room price. The breakfast was good for italy and I would recommend this hotel to anybody.

Room Tip: Room away from the front may be quieter.

When my boyfriend and I booked this hotel we were simply looking for a convenient place to stay while visiting the Pompeii ruins, our room was 49 euros per night so we were expecting just basic facilities since even the most basic hotel in the UK seems to charge at least £60. We were absolutely delighted when we got to the hotel, our room was basic (which is what we booked) but clean, stylish and cosy with a good sized bathroom. The hotel staff were fantastic, extremely friendly and helpful (one of the female receptionists printed off our boarding cards for us, which we had lost, the morning of our departure) and the breakfast was one of the best I've had in a hotel, there was a lot of variety (cappuccinos, fruit, yoghurts, cereals, pancetta, sausages, etc.) The spinach omelette was delicious and I've forever been trying to replicate it at home.

The hotel is ideally situated to visit the ruins, it is literally opposite them and a five minute walk from the hotel to get to the main entrance. There is also a regular and cheap train service which runs to Herculaneum and Sorrento. The train station is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel, also near the station is the tourist information where you can buy a ticket to go up to Vesuvius on a coach which I thoroughly recommend doing. Pompei, the modern town, is beautiful in itself and I was glad we stayed here rather than in the more touristy Sorrento nearby. We ate twice at 'Pizza E Pasta Di Verino Francesco', a little restaurant at the far end of the town square (opposite the cathedral) and it was fantastic and very good value for money. The waiters were extremely friendly (they gave us a free bottle of Chianti on our second visit) and the food was delicious and authentic Italian. I could not recommend the location or hotel more, it was great value for money and if I got the chance I'd jump straight on a plane and go back!

We stayed here for 3 nights when visiting the ruins of Pompeii. The staff were very friendly and were more than happy to give us advice on what to see and do during our stay. One of our rooms wasn't ready for us on arrival and we were given free drinks whilst we waited.
The rooms are spacious and clean although the beds are a little on the hard side and the shower in the bathroom is small.
During the day there are free snacks for guests which can be eaten in the fantastic garden which is filled with lemon and orange trees and is a great place to relax with a drink in the afternoon sun.
Breakfast was also very good with a selection of cereals, fruit salad, cheese, ham and salami and scrambled egg with spinach and frankfurters. Several kinds of bread as well as honey, jams and marmalade and also cakes. To drink there was a choice of teas and coffees or freshly squeezed orange juice.
Finally be careful when booking a taxi through the hotel, we booked one to take us to Naples airport for our journey home. Our driver was arrested at the airport for driving without insurance to carry passengers and although the police were friendly to us and we didn't have to pay we did have to surrender our passports to them for a half hour whilst they established who we were and where we had come from which isn't the best when you have to check in and get through security at the airport. I have to say that this is probably unconnected to Hotel Forum but you would expect a hotel like theirs to use a reputable taxi service. Although this wouldn't stop us from staying there again

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony if you are expecting one. We booked 2 identical rooms, when we got them one had a full balcony and the other a Juliet balcony.
