“Well placed hotel but not 4 star”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

This hotel is perfect for visiting Pompeii, literally across the road to the other (quieter) entrance. However, our room was dated and it was next to reception which was very loud in the morning. The staff were not very mindful of their noise levels and woke us up on both mornings. It did look like they were renovating the hotel so maybe we just got an 'old' room, but this is not a 4 star hotel on an International basis, 3 star would be a fairer rating. They do have a lovely lemon garden where the restaurant is (good food), but dont forget your bug spray!

On a side note, there is not much to do in Pompei itself and two nights was more than enough for us. Next time we would probably just make a day trip of it and stay in a place with more to do and picturesque views on the Amalfi Coast.

Room Tip: Dont stay on the ground floor!

On the main street of modern Pompeii, this hotel is a small oasis of calm. Modern decor, wifi, sat TV, outside garden and free off road parking opposite the hotel. The place to stay when visiting the excavations (the amphitheatre entrance is opposite) the hotel.

We stayed 5 nights and founds this hotel to be very comfortable. Breakfast was a bit basic but plentiful even tat 10am. the hotel is just 2 minutes walk from the entrance to the ruins and 10 minutes walk for the train station.

My family of four stayed for one night in a quad room and it was exactly what we needed on our pass through the area to visit Pompeii. Room was clean w a small balcony, reasonable bathroom (nice towels, too!), and the front desk and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. After our long day of sightseeing, we had dinner in the restaurant, hoping for the best, and we were happily surprised with delicious ravioli and nice risotto - and very good value! Don't miss the garden for a drink - lovely citrus trees and grapevines in the shady terrace. A real oasis in the hubbub of this tourist town!

Charming building with courtyards and sitting areas. Our quad room was clean, nice, quiet. The only negative was that we only had one electrical outlet for charging multiple phones.
Great location and nice staff. Would stay here again if we are ever in Pompeii again.

Our stay at the Forum was reasonably good value for money , but it was far from perfect .

The hotel is in an excellent location about 50 metres from one of the entrances to the Pompeii ruins . It is also a short 5 min walk into the centre of Pompeii town .

The hotel is undergoing refurbishment and most of the public areas have been upgraded to a high standard including reception and the breakfast room .

Unfortunately , we were allocated an old room which was badly in need of upgrading .... old fashioned bathroom with broken tiles , green wardrobe with plastic handles , and worst of all the air con unit didn't work so we had trouble sleeping in a hot stuffy room . The staff offered to change the room for our second night , but we had unpacked by then and it was too much of a hassle to relocate .

The staff were always helpful and friendly with information about Pompeii , train schedules , where to eat , taxis , etc .

Pity about our 2 star room .

I was slightly concerned about staying in pompeii after being told that it was unpleasant and touristy but this hotel was brilliant and totally put me at ease. It is a lovely looking hotel with well sized rooms with great bathrooms, beds and balconies. It is peaceful and a nice break from the tourist traps around. The bar and indoor restaurant are lovely and the outside restaurant under the lemon trees was also very good although not quite finished. There is a little refurb work going on although it didn't impact our stay. The breakfast was very good and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. I would really recommend this place and it was such good value for money.
