We had a wonderful stay here; room on top floor; view of Vesuvius and Pompeii's ruins. Staff was great, room was clean. All compliments

(minor note to staff; the cab they called for me, some guy in a Mercedes van who tripled the meter price when he saw i was going to a fancy marina....total ripoff ...not their fault per se, but man, don't recommend that driver)

I booked this place based on trip advisor reviews. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was fantastic. It was in the new section of the hotel and was so flash all the lights work from an electronic keypad. We had a balcony with a table and chairs above their lovely garden - I sat out there and enjoyed a glass of wine. The beds were supremely comfortable and the shower was great. Look no further!

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the modern section.

I have just returned from the most wonderful holiday. I stayed at the Forum Hotel, just across the street from the Pompei excavations and felt so at home. From Marika and her fellow desk members to the loveliest kitchen staff you ever met, I felt so welcome and pampered. There is nothing they wont do to make your visit memorable and comfortable. My room was super comfortable and very clean. It had a wonderful view over their beautifully manicured gardens filled with different fruit trees. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. If you are planning a visit to Pompei you will be so so happy to stay there.

Room Tip: There are two Pompei stations. Pompei Scavi station is located 10 minutes walk away from the hotel...

Agree with previous reviews of this hotel, good location but not what we would consider 4 stars. Rooms are small and hotel facilities basic, but staff very friendly. Ideal location for Pompei ruins, but little else to do in the area. Restaurant gardens are beautiful and food good. Would recommend for a short break.

Only steps away from one of the entrances to the ruins. Very welcoming staff and free parking provided across the street. Able to drive up to hotel entrance to offload bags. Room appears to have been renovated and was very comfortable.
Breakfast ok but not special.

We booked 2 double rooms and one was very spacious, the other quite small. We found the staff to be really friendly - nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was very clean and modern - the breakfast room was lovely- very bright and airy and the food simple, but adequate. The best thing about this hotel was the garden - beautiful lemon trees and greenery. We ate dinner in the garden restaurant which, although pricier than other meals we had had, was very good. Take mosquito spray if you are in the garden at dusk. The location is perfect if you are visiting the ruins of Pompeii- right outside. Tip- if arriving by train do not use Trenitalia. Take the Circumvesuviana line from Naples to Pompeii Santuario (there are 3 stations in Pompeii and this is the closest to the hotel).

Room Tip: We had a room with a sofa bed which was a lot larger than the usual double- we paid the same price s...

Based solely on tripadvisor reviews, we booked three nights in this little gem of a hotel and we were not disappointed. We requested a quiet, top floor room with a view of the mountain and that's precisely what we got. The room was very small (even by European standards) and quite dated, but it was very clean and quiet with comfortable beds. I can not find fault in the hotel for our choice, because we got what we asked for. Our travel companions had a newer, larger room, but we were content with our choice and I would imagine our room was probably on the short list for an upgrade.
That being said, this is a wonderful place to stay. Marieke at the front desk was very, very professional and so very helpful, sharing her valuable locals' knowledge whenever we needed. The hotel was undergoing some renovations while we were there, and the newer parts are very smart and nicely appointed. The back lawn and outdoor dining areas are beautifully tranquil. They also have a peaceful roof-top terrace where you can relax, have a drink and gaze at magnificent Mt. Vesuvius as the sun sets. The indoor dining room has a lovely conservatory which allows you to enjoy the outdoors, even when inside. They presented a tasty complimentary happy hour buffet each evening which was an unexpected treat.
And as for location... Walk out the front door, across the quiet street et voila! you are at the entrance to the Pompeii archeological site. Note: This is NOT the main entrance where hoards of tour buses dump thousands of tourists, the entrance lined with trashy touristo shops (there are a few stands on the road, but nothing like at the main entrance). I can't honestly say if there are large crowds at this entrance, because we entered at 14 30 and there was not a soul around. We walked up, got our tickets and walked in. Big bonus: There is a nice Carrefour market within walking distance.
Back to the hotel.... We highly recommend it! Enjoy!

Room Tip: Our "mountain view" room did have a view of a mountain, but not Vesuvius. They do have roo...
