“Great stay”
Reviewed 5 August 2014 via mobile

We stayed at Hotel Forum for 2 nights last month. It is literally right across the street from the ruins. It doesn't look like much from the front of the building but there's an oasis inside. Beautiful yard with outdoor restaurant seating and also lounge area. Staff were very helpful and spoke decent English. We had a superior room which was nice and comfortable. However, I got a view of the standard rooms when housekeeping was inside, they looked old and in need of much updating. Which while we were there, they were doing some refurbish work. My advice, pay a few extra dollars and the the superior. The restaurant on site was very good. They had wonderful pizza. They also served free breakfast in the morning. The hotel also has a parking lot across the street that you can use for free. Overall, we were very pleased here.

I stayed in this hotel for three weeks and was very happy here. The location is ideal for visiting the ruins and we were only about 10/15 minute walk from the train station which was handy as I travelled from Naples airport to Pompeii by train.
The hotel itself was very clean and there was no noise from outside so I got a good nights sleep. The breakfast was nice with lovely fresh orange, eggs, meats, breads and cereals.
I would recommend this hotel to others.

We had a wonderful stay here; room on top floor; view of Vesuvius and Pompeii's ruins. Staff was great, room was clean. All compliments

(minor note to staff; the cab they called for me, some guy in a Mercedes van who tripled the meter price when he saw i was going to a fancy marina....total ripoff ...not their fault per se, but man, don't recommend that driver)

I booked this place based on trip advisor reviews. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was fantastic. It was in the new section of the hotel and was so flash all the lights work from an electronic keypad. We had a balcony with a table and chairs above their lovely garden - I sat out there and enjoyed a glass of wine. The beds were supremely comfortable and the shower was great. Look no further!

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the modern section.

I have just returned from the most wonderful holiday. I stayed at the Forum Hotel, just across the street from the Pompei excavations and felt so at home. From Marika and her fellow desk members to the loveliest kitchen staff you ever met, I felt so welcome and pampered. There is nothing they wont do to make your visit memorable and comfortable. My room was super comfortable and very clean. It had a wonderful view over their beautifully manicured gardens filled with different fruit trees. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. If you are planning a visit to Pompei you will be so so happy to stay there.

Room Tip: There are two Pompei stations. Pompei Scavi station is located 10 minutes walk away from the hotel...

Agree with previous reviews of this hotel, good location but not what we would consider 4 stars. Rooms are small and hotel facilities basic, but staff very friendly. Ideal location for Pompei ruins, but little else to do in the area. Restaurant gardens are beautiful and food good. Would recommend for a short break.

Only steps away from one of the entrances to the ruins. Very welcoming staff and free parking provided across the street. Able to drive up to hotel entrance to offload bags. Room appears to have been renovated and was very comfortable.
Breakfast ok but not special.
