The pool is fantastic - clean, lots of seating, and a much needed way to cool off. It's the only reason to stay here. Location is great too, right near train and Pompeii entrance. Restaurant is so-so - the gnocchi and tomato sauce tasted a bit like Chef Boy R Dee, but yummy. Spaghetti carbonara the second night was well liked. Breakfast was disappointing, although cappuccinos to order were nice. Second morning, they ran out of croissants, so I had cornflakes - the most expensive bowl ever, given the B&B price, but a dish of yogurt isn't going to get you through a day. Room: I can get over a broken TV, lack of pillows and the fact that it hasn't been updated since 1955. These are not issues (the furniture was neat, actually). There is no excuse for an unclean room, however. There was a fork in a nightstand drawer, water rings on the nightstand, leftover Victoria's secret boxer shorts and other clothing items in the armoire, and mold in the bathroom. Mold all along the cracked, rusted tub, on the wall where towels should hang (we didn't hang any), crusted hard water on the hand-held shower unit (which is broken and doesn't hang right, so you must hold it in your hand or there's water everywhere) There's no reason that should happen - proper cleaning can be done no matter the age of the room.
