“Great for Pompei, but for south central Italy too.”
Reviewed 19 August 2012 via mobile

Unassuming and friendly this hotel is easy to find just off the A3 whether you are coming from Naples or the Amalfi coast. It is a short walk to the Pompei site and there are plenty of reasonably priced eateries around. Normally this hotel is a one nighter after one has done a trip to Pompei and vesuvious, both of which we done in a day but actually if you want a bit of stability this hotel makes a good base for the madness that is Naples, Sorrento, Capri and the Amalfi coast, all are within easy reach of your car or if you want to avoid some of the windy roads in Amalfi, public transport.
The room was a good size, air con worked well and pillows were good. Breakfast was really good with the staff being particularly attentive.

This is a very nice family driven Hotel in the center of Pompeii in walking distance to the excavations. They have a nice breakfast with cake, bread, fresh fruits, tea (even green tea), coffee, juice ... I will definitely come back.

Stayed one night. Pros: About 4 blocks to the ruins. Breakfast was fine. Parking was secured and management allowed us to leave car parked there while we were at the ruins. Cons: Bed was very hard and very lumpy. Shower was small. Room and common areas needed painting.

An oasis of cleanliness and service in an otherwise pretty scuzzy region.
Staff are highly professional - all family members, English is good. Very informative and pleasant. Rooms are basic but clean - in line with modern hotel fashion for minimalistic approach, I have paid three times as much for the same in big city business hotels.
Parking is behind the hotel in an orange orchard secured by massive steel gates!
Breakfast was well above average for European hotels - lots of fresh items.
Location was excellent, and it needs to be, you don't want to be wandering far in Pompeii at night!
Best plan would be to arrive in the evening, stay one night at the Iside, see Pompeii ruins as early as possible next morning, then leave the region !

Planning a visit to Pompei, we selected Hoel Iside off the web and with very little other information -- we were very pleased with our stay. This is just a small place, run by a family, with nice personal touches. The older couple speak only a little English, but other staff are relatively conversant, so it's comfortable even for Americans with little or no Italian language capability. The rooms are fairly small and simply furnished, but clean and comfortable. Some people might find the shower small, but we thought it was fine. They provide a wonderful Italian breakfast (what Americans call a continental breakfast) -- don't miss the croissants, cappucino, and local orange juice. In season, you can even gave fruit grown on the grounds of the hotel. The location is just a short, easy walk from the amphitheater entrance to the ruins -- this is an advantage, as most people enter from the opposite end of the ancient city, so you don't have to encounter much in the way of tourist hordes. We also found entering the ruins at about 4:30 in the afternoon was great: the crowds are gone, the day is starting to cool down, and the light of the setting sun is fabulous. Great little hotel, reasonable prices, don't miss.

Such a comfortable and safe place! The rooms were clean, the marble floors sparkled, the bathroom was spotless and there was plentiful hot water. Yes the room and bathroom were on the small side but it was plenty of room for us and quite lovely. The hotel is a short walk from the train station but if you have much luggage you will want a cab. We walked it easily with our overnight case. The hotel is only a short walk to the amphitheater entrance of Pompei- this is a great entrance as most tours start at the other end so it's uncrowded. The breakfast every morning is traditional Italian- sweet croissants, fresh fruit, excellent coffee (espresso and cappuccino) the warm rolls were to die for. Plenty to eat. It was quiet. The older couple don't speak much English but their daughter does- all of them made us feel welcomed. We will be back!

Room Tip: The second floor was quiet. NOTE: there is no swimming pool but I couldn't eliminate the rating...
