We only stayed at Hotel Diana for one night but it is a great hotel. Two blocks from the train station, 15 minute walk to the ruins. Modern, clean, convenient, helpful English-speaking staff, free wi-fi plus two public computers in the lobby, and a filling breakfast. The rooms are small, like most in Europe, but clean and well-appointed. Heated towel rack in bath was a plus! There was a safe in the room but it wasn't obvious how to use it. If we were staying more than one night I would have asked about it. Breakfast is served in the light-filled basement and consists of the usual pastries and freshly made coffee as well as juices, cereals, cold cuts, rolls and sliced cheese.
It was our last night of holiday and we decided to spring for a taxi back to the airport to avoid the early morning hassle. They arranged one for us for the predetermined amount of 55 euros. I had contacted a private car service recommended here on TA and their charge was 100 euros!
I recommend this hotel without hesitation for anyone visiting Pompeii.More
