Some impressive tombs and, oddly a peaceful place to rest after walking around the ruins. Look out for very pretty green lizards that scurry around (harmless).

This road architecturally is attributable perfectly resembling as the Rome's Imperial Forum, a long road that leads to the threshold of the equally famous Villa of the Mysteries.
Along this road made of cobblestones you can admired on both sides numerous tombstones, altars and construction works really admirable.
I was positively enchanted by all this artistic beauty, Romans were artists and they've always demonstrated it.

Eerie place. Fascinating too. To think that those buried there died before the 79 eruption is fascinating.

An interesting passage between the Villa dei Misteri and Villa di Diomede and the town of Pompeii, nr. 28 of the official map of the site. The Necropoli di Porta Ercolano is situated along the road connecting Pompeii with Herculaneum, outside city walls behind the Porto Ercolano. Here the tombs and monuments placed in real roman tradition. The road is paved and still in nice condition. For a panoramic view of Pompeii excavation site and Bay of Naples view, proceed to the right of Porta Ercolano to the Passeggiata fuori le mura, ie the trail around the city walls, which is a quiet and green place for reflecting.
