We opted for a real "hotel" in Rome rather than the B&Bs we stayed in in smaller cities because we liked that there was staff on hand 24 hours a day. This hotel was also recommended by Rick Steves. We wanted to stay within walking distance of the train station, and this location was excellent. We were happy with how quiet it was despite being in the heart of the city. It is off a side street, and we walked everywhere except the Vatican - which was a 4 minute walk to the Metro! Tons of restaurants and shopping around. There's an Irish Pub and McDonald's just around the corner if you want something you are familiar with, and they're open ALL day. Every staff member we encountered was helpful and friendly. They helped us arrange a transport to the airport and had a very helpful map with the popular sights highlighted. Breakfast was wonderful with many options - eggs, yogurt, croissants, cereal, fruit, juice, coffee, and tea. Our room and bathroom were adequate size. Most things are smaller in Italy, but we had plenty of room. The room was very clean, and the bed was huge! There were TV channels in English, too. The coffee and tea in the room was great to help us wake up from a siesta - the only way to do Rome without complete exhaustion! The free wireless access was fast, and when our password stopped working, the front desk simply gave us another one. I would stay here again if I visit Rome!

located by the Opera in Rome. Very difficult to find as the signing in not good. He had to ask a man working in the internet cafe down the street. Rooms had recently been redone and they are very nice but small. ONly 14 rooms in the hotel. Front desk staff is very nice and the breakfast was good. The only real complaint is the we would have rather stayed in the older section of Room

My husband and I along with four of our family members stayed at the Hotel Opera for 4 nights in early June. The hotel was fantastic! Prior to our arrival, they were very accomodating, assisting me with booking trasportation from the airport to the hotel. Upon arrival, we were greeted at the door with warm smiles and helping hands to carry our bags. The hotel was spotless & our room was well appointed including the bathroom which had a gorgeous tub perfect for soaking after a long day of sightseeing. Breakfast simple but good and the staff always pleasant during every interaction. The location was perfect too- it was easy to walk to Termini Station and just a short ride from all the major sights. Hotel Opera was really a wonderful find! If we ever travel back to Rome, we will absolutely be staying here again!

We stayed at Hotel Opera Roma, which is located in the heart of Rome. We chose it because it was only $165/euro's a night compared to 300-600 euro's a night at other surrounding hotels. The staff was friendly, familiar with the in's and out's of Rome and were of enormous help. Our room was spare, clean, had a TV, air conditioning, bathtub (important for me). There was no spa, no fitness room or swimming pool. They also had a fabulous breakfast and loved their cafe latte's they made from scratch. Their breakfast was sumptuous, the food fresh and everything spotless. They suggested since we were staying 5 nights with them, an Italian restaurant, Antica Boehome, and it's FABULOUS! We at there every night. Fab service, food fresh and delicious...this is true Italian cooking at it's finest--and very cheap in comparison to other places---a little hole in the wall off on a side street. We will be back, and we'll use Hotel Opera Roma as our center to walk to see all the incredible sites that Roma has to offer. We loved our stay. The room was quiet, non-smoking. It had a good internet connection and phone.

Room Tip: Get a room on the higher floors to avoid noise

This was a great place to stay and the staff was very helpful. Very knowledgeable of all the historic sites and gave great advise on places to see other than the "Main attractions". Good sized room and bath. Very clean and new condition. We will be back!
