“The suite is SWEEETTTT”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 October 2010

love the fact that's its a short distance a way from Termini station so we walked from the station to the hotel. We were surprised by the upgrade and got the suite. It's sweeetttt. If the hot tub and jacuzzi shower worked during our stay it's definitely a 5 but since it was broken the whole time we were there (4 nights), I have to give it a 4. But, the room though is really nice. It's nice to go back to a clean hotel after a whole day of venturing the city. The service staff are very nice, friendly, and helpful. I would definitely go back to this place again.

We would definitely choose Hotel Opera Roma for our next stay in Rome. This is a lovely hotel that is only 5 minutes walking to the main train terminal in Rome. The Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and other major attractions are all within walking distance. Best of all, it’s a very well kept hotel and the staff is friendly and helpful with anything you need, directions, restaurants, international phone options, etc. All around delightful.

Very quiet with good amenities (computer access in room, coffee maker, TV to watch ESPN). Staff was helpful. Morning breakfast was cheerful and a nice way to start the day of sightseeing. Close to Termini station for easy transportation without paying for taxi rides. The only negative was that the hot water fluctuated with cold during a shower. We slept well in the hotel and would not hesitate to stay again.

I had booked on other users recommendations and when we arrived we were placed in a new area of the hotel (across the road in another building in fact) which was recently completed. The room was new and of typical size for Rome 3star; everything worked and we also had a little balcony onto the street.
Price was good so we would be happy to stay here again for a short time.

Best Bits
Recently renovated rooms. Service was really very good. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the young woman at the breakfast bar works hard. The staff is great and really make a difference. We loved the SkyCable and the chace to watch English television other than CNN.

The Bad
I know Rome is expensive in September but jeeze! A 'discounted' rate of 180 euros (yes, euros not dollars) a night (with breakfast) for a room just a foot and a half wider than my husband's arm span was hard to swallow. I mean, really I've done lots of traveling and backpacking and this was the smallest room I've ever stayed in. I wondered if it was intended for a single bed rather than our double. Bathroom while nicely appointed was also rather cramped. My husband, who is a larger guy, needed to enter the shower sideways and couldn't really move around much once in.

I also didn't care for the neighborhood. Too close to the train station (and the folks they attract) and a little too hustle and bustle for me.

It is close (walking distance) to the main train station and the subway. It is a good location for site seeing. Our room was modern, quiet and clean - a little small, but fine. The breakfast room was a little crowded, but the food was good. The front desk staff was very helpful and pleasant (even when dealing with some other guests who were being really rude). They set us up with a private driver to the airport, which was less expensive (for 3 people) than a taxi and more convenient than taking the train.

These rooms are amazing, spacious, luxurious, and AIR CONDITIONED! We loved the jacuzzi tub and small balcony overlooking the street below. Highly recommended!
