“Our first lunch in Rome !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2011

After visiting Trevi fountain, our tour guide Simona bright us here.
Great little place, little sandwich type pizzas. Stick with the family run business, because they know excellent food !
My group loved it, remember beer & pizza go hand in hand in Italy but I'm a 100% red wine guy

“A great find amongst great finds”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 December 2009

Rome is an awesome place to find good food and this little pizza joint was a great find amongst other great finds!

The pizza was really tops, our service was good (despite a few negative comments otherwise in some of the other posts) and it wasn't too crowded as we were eating after the busy lunch period.

Definitely recommend the pizzas and they are a very reasonable price. Location just behind Piazza Navona is great too.

“Delish white pizzas!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2009

The food here was delicious. We had the traditional white pizzas and they were sooo good! Its much cheaper if you get the pizza for takeaway but still quite cheap if you want to eat there. The server even gave us a complimentary tasting portion of the dolce pizza that they serve. Yum!

“ok pizza, bad service, overall not worth it”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 January 2009

I am from Rome and I used to go to the original Zozzone. I was very disappointed when I went again this year, I was treated really badly by an owner who could not be bothered to serve us our pizza. He got angry when we didn't understand that you are supposed to pay for the pizza first and get it after, and we were ripped off when they didn't have one ingredient we wanted, and had to pay extra to substitute it with lettuce that was not fresh anyway. The pizzas without lettuce were decent, but no better than what you can get in any pizza al taglio, and a lot more expensive. Definitely not worth getting treated like an idiot and yelled at!

“What a find! What delicious (white) pizza!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 October 2008

Picture the scene: -

Its hot, we have walked for hours through the back streets of Rome. We are at Piazza Navona surrounded by "tourist trap" food, but want somethig a bit more authentic than the menu touristica. We saw a couple enjoying the most wonderful looking creation of food from a brown paper bag and decide we want similar so walk in the direction they had come from. More tourist food. Five minutes later and just about to give up when we saw another couple with brown paper bags so followed down that back-street. There were 3 restaurants down that street and non of them looked like they would send you off with a delicious take-away, but luck sent us another couple straight fom Lo Zozzone (via del Teatro Pace, 32).

In the back of the restaurant there is a deli and a large pizza oven, from where the fresh white pizza (similar to focaccia) comes. There seems to be an infinite choice of fillings, but they were not shy about suggesting what goes with the initial choice of filling - all at no extra cost. The pizza was just a delicious as it looked and well worth the effort of finding - so much so that we had to have a meal there in our last hours in Rome.
