The room was a decent size for two people but the bed wasnt comfortable (it was two singles put together-there was a gap) also there isn't enough hot water for two people to shower one after the other (we took turns morning/evening). The floors weren't very clean and the shower smelled of mildew.--but the location is really convenient.

The Alex B&B was in a great location. We stayed in one of the rooms at the Via Germanico location which was 2 blocks away from the Subway. The Vatican City was also only minutes away. We prefered staying near the Vatican instead of in the centre of Rome. As long as the subway was close by, you can get anywhere in Rome quite conveniently. There`s also an internet and phone centre a few stores away on the same street.

The room was cleaned every day and fresh towels were provided. Breakfast was great - fresh bread, cheese and the best Italian coffee that we had!

Our room faced Via Germanico which is a main street lined with businesses. Be prepared for noise late at night (ie. garbage trucks picking up garbage at around midnight).

Make sure you eat at Insalata Ricca which is only a few blocks away. The food is excellent and the prices are very decent!

This place seems to have two parts - a more traditional B&B and a handful of vacation apartments nearby. We got one of the vacation apartments and loved it. Large bed, good-sized bathroom, plenty of space, and a mini-kitchen. All of this in a quiet building (on Via Ottaviano, but we had a view of the courtyard) 2 blocks from the Vatican. (And here we thought we were renting a tiny room in a regular B&B.) Our room was on the 3rd floor and the building had a small elevator. We arrived at 9am on an overnight train and our room was ready when we arrived.

The Vatican is two blocks away, the Ottaviano metro station is two blocks in the other direction, and Piazza Risorgimento (with buses, trams, and a daily craft market) was right outside. It's not in the tourist heart of Rome, but still a fantastic and well-connected location.

Finally, make sure to let them know when you're arriving. The woman who runs the place (I think Alex is her son) is the only one who handles check-ins, and she occasionally goes out for a few minutes. Nothing major, though.

This wonderful B&B is located just minutes from the Vatican (2 blocks). It is also easily accessible by the Metro Line A. This Italian family owns a couple of apartments in this area. We stayed at the Germanico location. Our room was equiped with our own private bathroom. It was clean and very spacious (for European standards). Breakfast was ready for you at anytime (according to your schedule). They were very accomodating. We would definitely stay here on any future visits to Rome.
