Description: *** Please note that we will be temporarily closed for the summer season from 31 Jul 2017 to 3 Sept. *** Those looking for a restaurant in St. Peter, in Arlu will find a pleasant and familiar atmosphere where you can taste lunches and dinners made with natural ingredients, with an excellent balance between quality and price. From over fifty years we welcome tourists and lovers of good food in an unpretentious atmosphere, furnished with style and elegance. In the kitchen we favor seasonal raw materials and this guarantees freshness and digestibility to our dishes, from meat to fish passing through appetizers and desserts. Maximum attention is paid to the preparation of homemade biscuits, bread, cakes and pasta. To all this is added the kindness of a harmonious staff, composed of the members of a family that for a generarions has been handed down the craft of the restaurateur. Traditional cuisine and Mediterranean atmosphere, but also warmth and affection worthy of the italian culture.

It is a shame this restaurant is close to all the Vatican tourist trap restaurants. Walk down a street and every restaurant has a guy trying to hustle you into their restaurant then you find Arlu. This is a family owned restaurant since 1959 where the mother and sister make the pasta and fresh bread every morning. The restaurant is small and has more outside seating and some inside tables. The past is super fresh and cooked perfectly. The Tiramisu is do die for. We had good service that was very personalized. The food was super authentic Italian and quite delicious. For a neighbor restaurant near the Vatican, I give it 5 stars. What a refreshing treat to find a great local family restaurant among the scammer tourist traps. They even gave me a glass of limencello on the house after lunch. I found this place using my Trip Advisor Ap from the Vatican.

We had the carbonarra and saltimboca for lunch. Nice place after a long morning touring the Vatican museums. Nice family operation on a nice side street away from the crowds.

My husband and I chanced upon this restaurant after a long day of touring. We wanted someplace nice and intimate with that home-cooking feel. And we got it! We started out with really good wine then some grilled squid that was so fresh, we've never had anything like it! For our main course, we had spaghetti with clams, and lasagna. Again, it was the best pasta dishes we've ever had! As for dessert, they brought out two of their best ones and it couldn't be beat! Armando, the owner, caught me scraping every last bit of chantilly cream off my plate! :) Lastly, he gave us some complimentary sherry wine. It was the perfect ending to a perfect meal! It's our 20th wedding anniversary and this was our second stop from Paris then onto Florence then Germany. This stop in Rome was made very memorable because of ARLU. Thank you, Armando, for such a lovely meal! It is one experience we will always remember! :) ---Andy and Vivian; Wilmington, Delaware USA

Had lunch after visiting Vatican.
We had 6 different dishes and they all were great.
The service was a bit slow, but i assume it was due to rush hour...
Highly recommend.

No welcome, waited long to order food, seemed in chaos. No eye contact when serving just kinda dumped on the table as the waiter looked away. Bread came AFTER the meal. Nobody asked if we ok. Nobody asked did we want more drinks. We had to chase the bill. The only good thing, the food came quite quickly and was totally awesome. Shame it's so badly managed & under staffed & a bit rude.
