“Roman fare”
Reviewed 22 October 2013

Real Roman food, no frills, just honest good food, and extremely friendly service. Try their great carbonara, the abacchio, etc. and relax into an authentic meal. The location, close to the area I prefer in Rome, Campo de' Fiori/Piazza Farnese

“Home made food for romans”
Reviewed 30 August 2013

It is close to Campo di Fiori but some street away from the fuzz of the main Piazza. Not easy to find but after some streets up and down the search pays back.

Important to say that da Sergio is an honest trattoria, serving home made food for Romans. They are close to one of the most touristic areas in Rome but they preserve their tradition and their quality for the local client.

And you know what? Much better!!

They may not be the kindest or the most fashion place (that is not), but when you taste the best mozzarella ever tasted you start to ignore other things.

We had Parma ham with mozzarella. The ham was good for a Parma but mozzarella, unforgettable. The best mozzarella ever, in size, texture, freshness and flavor. If you are a cheese lover do not miss it before leaving Rome.

Vegetables are at a good level, more specifically green beans and chicory. Special mention to artichokes served with salad: fresh, lightly grilled and full of flavor and tenderness.

As said, home made food with home made presentation, but if you are a real food lover don’t miss it.

Friendly restaurant serving hearty food to locals in true roman ambiance. Huge portions. Address off Campo di Fiori worth looking for.

“Great local food and service”
Reviewed 7 July 2013

The food at Sergio's was really good as was the service all at a reasonable price. Had a good selection on the menu, and it wasn't one of those larger tourist restaurants. We would recommend it for a good casual meal.

“Local restaurant in a touristy area”
Reviewed 23 June 2013

We ate here on the recommendation of an Italian couple who live nearby and weren't disappointed. Initial experience wasn't too good as the waitress appeared a bit grumpy, but once the maître d' appeared (Angelo I think) then things improved. It is a very local place - we were the only non-Italians eating there despite the restaurant being just 100m from Campo de Fiori. The antipasto starter was huge with a great selection of meats and cheeses and I had the day's special which was clam linguine - cooked just right. Fresh fish is served just two or three days a week, but there is a good meat selection. Total bill for 3 just over 50 Euros including tip.
