Lots of reviews of the place and I have to say we were disappointed. Tried to eat breakfast there and no one would help us. DId have dinner one night, it was average at best. Try other places in area.

“first timers”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 April 2013

We stayed at the hotel next to it. Went there every morning for breakfast, took out sandwiches, had some evening meals as well. What a great place, excellent service, it was so cool to have cappuccino next to local guys taking their time, on the way to work, see them conversing with each other. English was no issue as they very patient and understanding while taking orders.
Special thank you to two Russian waitresses, Julie and Svetlana for taking care of us. What a great surprise it was to find them there on our first morning.

“Wouldn't think so from the outside but not bad”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 February 2013

Went there twice and had a nice meal both times. First time on the Self Service side, 02nd time on the table service side.
Funny thing about this restaurant is that if you go in by the main shop entrance you wouldn't think there's a restaurant in there. First you have to go past the counters selling cakes and Ice cream on one side and Aperitifs and Italian Tapas/Antipasta on the other, then past some canteen type tables before you actually enter the restaurant. On reaching the restaurant my wife and I were met by the manager, who seeing we were foreigners promptly asked us if we wanted Self Service or table service. Opting for Self Service we loaded our trays with Insalata di mare, melanzane fritte e zucchine fritte, marinated salmon, some gratinated pasta and lasagne.... and some fresh fruit salad (yes you can tell the difference) which was all washed down with some Italian red and white wine. Cost ? ±55 euros for 2. evaluation? Not bad. Having just arrived in Rome we hadn't had lunch and at 3.30PM were extremely hungry and this filled us just right.
We went back 2 nights later for a table service meals and enjoyed what we came for: Italian Specialties, from the aperitifs to the expresso, via the insalata di mare e insalata di polpi then the Risotto di mare and the Rigatoni a la Carbonara and a half bottle of nice Italian white wine. Cost? ±75 euros for 2 . Atmosphere? reminded me of a French Brasserie. Suitable for a romantic meal? Do you mean with dimmed lights and soft music? No but then try looking at it like an italian. The place was full with couples so it can't be that bad or in appropriate.
