Lovely authentic atmosphere and cuisine. Recommended by our host and we were not disappointed. Great outdoor experience despite the rain.

“Piazza was cute, food okay, service bad”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

I'd pick another restaurant in this piazza area if you can.

We were looking specifically for outdoor seating. There were lots of Italians there, so we figured it would be okay.
The food was mediocre, with blah antipasti misti. The mozzarella had obviously been sitting out for way too long. I had saltimbocca which was okay (I had it the next day elsewhere and it was so much better). My fiance had steak pepe verde, which he generally loves, but the sauce was far too creamy with no pepper flavor.
Unfortunately, we had probably the worst wine we've ever had. It was the house wine and came in an open bottle, which can generally be fine. But the red wine, it tasted terrible and had a brownish color. Pay for an actual bottle if you must.

Finally, we were annoyed with the service. They had three waiters to do the outdoor seating, which was probably too much, but they were constantly mixing up stuff and it was hard to get their attention to get them to fix what they messed up.

Mediocre food can always be made up with service, but these guys were not doing that.

“On a small piazza, lively people watching , solid fare”
Reviewed 22 July 2013 via mobile

We were not disappointed here, as we were looking for a nice, not over fancy meal after a busy day. Arrived around 8:30 and got a table with no problem, but it did fill quickly after that. Winning plate was my son's ravioli which was done in a lovely butter sage sauce. Nice to be tucked away from the hyped up places around the Pantheon. Those looking for chic upscale or gourmet would do better elsewhere. Of course there were tourists -- hard to avoid if you're a tourist visiting the big sites in a major tourist town-- but there were plenty of locals there too. They did a nice job accommodating families as well.

“Worst meal ever”
Reviewed 12 July 2013

Sorry Mario we were so disappointed , this was no more than institutional food , overlooked, watery and over salted zucchini, saltimbocca, which could have been any overcooked meat in a watery gravy, looked like it had been broiled for hours served with a pile of lumpy mash So un Italian , yuck almost in edible. And not that cheap. Worst meal ever in Italy in 25 years. Waiter was attentive. And looked disappointed that we passed on the coffee

“Authentic atmosphere with average food”
Reviewed 25 June 2013

Located near Via della Scrofa in the lovely surrounding. The interior is not so charming, decorations inlude everything from padded animals to a drawn caricatures of the cook. House wine was nothing special, I´ve had better in most of the restaurants within the area. Our pastas were very simply made, but tasty. Overall, if you´re not looking for a special event, this place is ok for a regular dinner at very reasonable price.
