i had been to that restaurant in the 80's and was dreading to be disapointed after so many years.this excellent place keeps the same high quality of food and welcome.a good plus is the live orchestra at night that adds to the romance of the roman night.highly recommended.prices are high but highly justified.

“San Valentino . . . perfect!”
Reviewed 18 February 2010

We spent Valentine's evening at this swank restaurant attached to the Shangri La hotel. Our plans were last minute, but this restaurant turned out to be a FANTASTIC find. The menu seems to focus on seafood and the preparation is perfect. From the seafood carpaccio to the scampi, we were not disappointed. Unlike other restaurants, that seem to be intent on turning tables . . . this was a calm and enjoyable dining experience. The pasta selections were also seafood based . . . the Spaghetti Vongole was spectacular. For the secondo, there are so many different fish selections and preparation options that we really had difficulty deciding. In the end, we chose a fish in "cartuccio" (cooked on high heat . . . wrapped in foil and seasoned with clams, olive, salt and pepper). The preparation was simple and the result was excellent. The wine selection is on par for a restaurant of this caliber and the staff were attentive and professional. Great place for a special occasion!
