“Nice service and great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2014

My wife and I just spent three nights at the Imperium Suite Navona. and were pleasantly surprised with the place. Once you've found it (and beware, because finding it can be quite hard the first time around), you'll notice that it's very small. I know some people who would not have been able to physically fit in the shower, for example, but for us this wasn't an issue. Other than that, our room (the "Pantheon") was very nice and came with everything you'd expect, including free wifi and an effective aircon-unit.

You should note that the walls and doors seem to be paper-thin, so if you're stuck next to someone who stays up talking half the night, you can expect to hear everything. I would advise you to bring ear plugs, just in case. This is the only real "problem" we had with the place, and between our ear plugs and exhaustion, it never really became an issue. The hotel itself is situated in a very quiet alley, so ambient noise never really factored into it. The staff was nothing short of very nice and helpful, and the location of the hotel itself leaves nothing to be desired. We've never been to Rome before, so we didn't really know what we were walking into, but it turned out that the area around Piazza Navona is bursting with life, and has everything we could ever want.

I'll give it 4/5, the one star deducted for poor sound insulation, and the fact that breakfast is only served from 8am. 7am would've been far better, if you want to explore the city as early as possible. But overall it was very nice, and the next time we go to Rome, we will definitely keep this place in mind.

We checked in and were treated by a friendly staff. The room was a bit small, but who wants to stay in the room all day. The breakfast was very basic but good and delivered on time. Check out is at 11:00 which was a bit early for us. Close to many of the sites and easy to access from Piazza Navano. Really nice to be able to take a cab back to a major landmark and have a five minute walk back to the hotel.

We've spent the last week in the Trevi Fountain room for our honeymoon and we honestly couldn't have asked for more. Yes it's tucked away down a small cobbled road, but isn't everything in Rome?

The staff were lovely and helpful throughout. We were on an early flight and they got our room ready early and let us leave our bags while they sorted it quickly for us. The room itself was in the building across the street and it felt like we had our own place for the week which was great. It was well thought out with a good use of all the space. The bathroom was so clean and shower was enormous! The air con was so welcome as it was very hot last week. The rooms were cleaned (very thoroughly) daily and breakfast was brought to the room every morning at our specified time. You even get to choose exactly what you'd like. There was more than enough to keep you going to until an afternoon snack. We even took leftovers as a little pack lunch for visiting the Colesseum. We also had sky and free excellent wifi.

The location was exceptional. Literally a 2 minute walk to Piazza Navona and the river. There is a shop just down the street for any essentials you may need and plenty of restaurants within a stones throw. Also a water fountain 10 seconds from the front door of the hotel.

Upon checkout (11am) we again were allowed to leave our bags until our flight later on in the evening. The taxi rank is 1 minute walk away.

All in all......... PERFECT!

I was extremely worried after reading some of the reviews but I found this to be a good value - hotels in Rome can be quite pricey! We stayed for 5 days in the Trevi Fountain room, and returned for one in the Plaza de Spagna room. Both were clean, comfortable. The breakfast was more than we could eat (and included in our price) and delivered promptly. The wifi was the best we experienced in Italy - sometimes weak but usually just fine for Facetiming with family back home. We enjoyed our stay and the services of all staff. They are very friendly and accommodating. The location can't be beat - 20 min walk to anything you want to see, with lots of restaurants, cafes, and shops nearby

Room Tip: Send an email to confirm your room choice - to be sure you don't get the basement apartment. Th...

Family of 4 - we stayed here 5 nights (wished it was fewer).

Apart from the terrible first night where we got virtually no sleep due to smoke coming into our room from the café outside the apartment - the room itself was adequate. If you choose this place DO NOT accept the ground floor apartment - the windows to the outside - while charming in their "old style" construction - do NOT block out sound or smells from the ally/street outside the unit.

The positive - great location - close to many sights including Piazza Navona. Neighborhood is fun and very walkable. Spacious unit. Washer/Dryer - which was unexpected and greatly appreciated.

The negative - due to reviews on the property we were under the distinct impression it was "bed and breakfast" - when we checked in - we foundout the "breakfast" was 5 euros per person - our recommendation is to "say no" and get your inexpensive breakfast from the bakery around the corner. WIFI was very spotty. As noted above - we had problems with sound/odor from the ally/street coming into our unit - remember - it is Rome and the cafe's are open till 1 or 2 am - and our unit had several tables just outside the unit. It was very hard to sleep and feel rested.

Room Tip: DO NOT ACCEPT A GROUND FLOOR UNIT - you will be disturbed by odor, smell and sound!

Very nice hotel. The location is perfect, one can easily walk to all monuments, there is no real need for public transport. Staff was friendly and breakfast was also good. A lot of restaurants nearby. I would strongly recommend this hotel to everybody who is visiting Rome.

We stayed here last week for 3 nights and had a fantastic time. Room was perfect for what we needed and had a spacious bathroom, too. Very clean, boutique feel and nicely decorated with very helpful and friendly staff who catered to our every need. Also, breakfast served in bed every morning (each day a sheet of paper with the menu on is left in your room, remember to fill out and hand into reception). Food was delicious, fresh croissants and bread accompanied by coffee and juices - perfect way to start the day! Free Wi-Fi was a nice touch, and we couldn't hear any other guests or noise from outside either. Overall a brilliant, well-priced boutique hotel located a stones throw away from all the hot spots, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, etc - you can walk for less than a minute and be in the midst of it all! Thank you for a great stay - we'll definitely be coming back!
